Neither did I till I learned. We all start somewhere.
If you really want to nail the acid sound, there’s nothing quite like building your own one. Plus you can tweak it to your own taste. (I calibrated the filter on mine so it behaves how I want it to)

If the acid voice was an octave lower, with more rests, no distortion and less delay, I’d dig it.
But I’m a fussy bastard.

I never got into techno or acid much, but have been going down a bit of a rabbit hole messing with my little Roland T-8 lately.
Anyone have any good recommendations like this?
I managed to track down a cheap used copy of this one and it just showed up. Love that drop at around 1:30.

well the ebay guy has offered a partial refund on it and i have a few synth repair options an hour away from me so looks like i will be keeping it anyway and hope it is as good as i expect it to be

Thanks very much to anyone who took the time to listen and comment on this, it really means a lot to me as I don’t often have the highest opinion of my own stuff and generally feel self-conscious when I share something. The concept of taking 2 plastic machines found at a thrift shop, connecting them together, programming, then manipulating them live while pumping through a club soundsystem, thereby inducing mania and sassy jacking…To me, this is, and will always be, the essence of techno.
