303 addiction

Yeah probably mk1 TT. T-8 is pretty good for pattern creation, can even do realtime then edit after, rotate and transpose options, maybe use it to drive your RE-303 (assuming you have midi?)

I have midi but I feel like half of a 303’s sound is the funk in the sequencer so don’t bother with it

The T-8 sequencer seems to translate 1:1 with the 303 sequencer (note range and features aside) one of my 303’s has Colin Fraser’s midibass mod which allows midi out as well as in, I captured some patterns from it into the T-8 and they sounded correct when played back on that same 303.

One day, I almost traded my hard earned x0xi0 for a Virus Ti2 Darkstar on Craigslist…then I came to my senses. There will never be another.

I’m addicted and Behringer’s 303 clones are feeding my illness. TD3 is fun and sound great, TD3 MO is a winner, I love it. But I’m also obsessed by decksavers and I suffer the lack of a proper dedicated MO’s cover. The only one on the market fits the standard TD3 but it’s not taylored on the MO edition. Any advice?

Damn I just bought another one. What is wrong with me! Bought an x0xb0x this time. I used to own one but it was big, light and plasticky but somehow I still think it probably sounded better than the TT-303 and TD-3. At least I’ll be able to compare them side by side real soon

Anyone know if the x0xsource builds used decent parts?

Thats just the enclosure. If it came in a metal enclosure people would go, Oh X0xbox’s are so well made!

Its the circuit that counts, the components, and how well it was soldered.

Theres only 2 boards in a Xoxbox. The main board which has the synth on one side, the front panel controls on the other, and the power and i/o board.

All the pots are then secured to the front panel. This is good.

Ive no idea about Xoxsource. The Xoxbox I built sounds great, I just got the parts according to the ladyada BOM.

@funkylsk What’s the blue/purple thing below the silver Bassline please?

Also, I share your hope for a new Revolution from the revived Future Retro. I loved the ergonomics of the original.

This is the first version of the bassline from acidlab
There is no key for entering notes, you choose the pitch from a pot  Not my favorite ahah

Miss my 777, it was a early purple faced one that previously belonged to Charlie Clouser.

Miss my 808 and SFX6 too

Since you have both versions of the TT, quick question: would you say the mk2 still sounds pretty good, even though the mk1 might be closer to the original?

I’ve listened to demos, but of course that’s never the same as spending time with the actual synth.

Yeah mk2 sounds great too, I think very nice with a slightly extended range on decay and env mod depth (both higher and lower) also has the hammer and mute which are ok, but the sequencing options are really improved, with the pattern lab which is really useful.

I’m addicted to that Pattern Lab

I quite like just choosing one note with up down accent slide enabled, surprising what it comes up with.

GTFO, that is sick!

I bought it from a guy in the US, he told me it used to belong to Charlie, I didn’t really know the name at that time, and it was priced without a premium, less than a new one. A little later a new update eprom was available so I got in contact with Jered to buy the update, he confirmed that it used to belong to Charlie and told me more info about how the circuitry was different in that revision, IIRC only 12 were made like that as they were done by hand.

Jered is a really cool guy, he later sold me a TB-303 CPU that he had bought new from Roland when developing the 777. I needed it to fix a broken one and he mentioned he had one.

New addition :sunglasses:

Had to clean her up a bit (was absolutely filthy) but everything is working and it sounds really really good!

I’ve always heard such good things about that Jered. I mean, that 777 should have really taken off, but his other devices never really grabbed me…

Except the XS. That thing was WAY ahead of its time…Wanted one for so long…but that was before “the gear tsunami”…

unrelated but also related - any tips or trick for programming an OG tb303? I fell asleep with it on my lap last night and fortunately has the battery mod so my patterns are still there, but they don’t sound as good in the morning!!
