7 years in the making
Ah cheers, was waiting for someone less lazy than me to make this thread!
The good: This looks and sounds bad-ass.
The bad: Standalone only. No trialling the software.
No matter how good it is I’m not coughing up over a ton without being able to try it out properly.
Also, I think (could be wrong) that it’s only gonna be available to buy through the App store, meaning the license will be non-transferable. Is that how it works?
So… no trialling it, no selling it on if I don’t like it = a risky purchase.
Please, if you’re reading this Mr Developer, address these issues or correct me if I’m wrong!
You’re not going to mention that cluttered UI?
Oscillators: WHAT IS THIS AN OSCILLATOR FOR ANTS!
Filters: WHAT IS THIS A FILTER FOR ANTS!
and so on…
Ha ha yeah that shit should be like… 3 times bigger
Seriously though, I don’t know if its usable. I need a trial to find out for myself!
I think the developer wanted as much on one page as possible, no tabbing. Not a bad idea on a big monitor. The colours are tweakable, apparently.
Shit EDM machine by the sound of it. Sound like one of those late 90’s car alarms that went through every possible annoying beep/siren/klaxon in sequence.
I don’t mind the clutter and the need for new prescription glasses to use this beautiful monstrosity, but I was disappointed with its features.
could be worse:

Thats less bad. While its an eye sore, I don’t feel anxious looking at it
i guess, lol. Maybe apps that look ike unicorn vomit are some people’s things
I’m a hello kitty guy myself…
edit: we are still waiting to see this digi skin that was ordered…
that is amazing and i’m a man of my word.
msg me your paypal
Nah. I did it because I thought it was funny, not because you offered to pay the bill
Surprised by some of the negativity about this thing!
I think its an attempt to build something fairly interesting, apparently took 7 years and was completely rewritten 6 times from the ground up.
If its good to use, could be worth checking out.
My only beef is standalone only, and no trial.
So basically one of you bastards buy it then tell me what its like
stand alone is the best part imo, but it is ugfeetly
Its the software version of tripophobia
on the positive side it’s the kind of thing that could grow on you if it sounds great and is highly functional
I’ve given it enough time.
This is an underrated comment
Not your average flanger…
I’m using it and it’s very fun. Not for everyone, the single-window approach is its strenght, everything is well laid out and easy to grasp.
It’s mostly sample/granular based (although there’s two FM synth buried in there :-)) so it doesn’t have a sound, it sound like the sample you put in it.
It’s not a DAW, you can’t really compare with Ableton or other DAW, there isn’t a proper note sequencer, so to speak. It’s more like a performance tool. You can easily add variations, probability, change grid division, randomization (with range) etc…effects are very funny.
You can read more in the official docs:
Here is a live performance:
if you are not familiar with Dub-Russell:
Thanks for the insight into the software!
