Yes, it has. It’s definitely on the backlog somewhere! Thanks for the support!
Actually, it includes two other great enhancements:
-
import of loop points embedded into multi-samples
-
it builds on the beta 3.0.10, which showcased a more consistent way of clip vs sample recording. With rec threshold off and rec quant other than none, clip is now assumed. This enables bb to record clips of Custom length with RecToPlay working thereafter. Live looping has just become more feasible.
That is great! Will test as soon as I receive my BB
Did the new update fixed the poping/clicking sound when one shot samples were played? I had to downgrade from last beta to official 3.0.9 fm version to avoid that clicking sound.
Is there a course, to learn the new features/workflows that have been added over the years?
A course probably not but check out the upgrade guides and (quick) overviews of new versions here: https://forum.1010music.com/forum/products/blackbox/learning-material
this is loads of fun you are not wrong! Love how easy it is to record sequences in and build up a beat that way.
question for everyone… a few times, I’ve ejected the SD card, then when I put it back in the Blackbox it seems not to be recognised.
If I then reflash the firmware on the Blackbox, it’s fine…
is there a way I can avoid this happening though? Or do I have a slightly dodgy Blackbox (second hand)
doesn’t seem to matter if I put the Blackbox to sleep, or power it down, this still happens.
Most likely, you got a dodgy SD card. Blackbox don’t like them all.
Which card you got?
ah maybe I guess…
“SanDisk 256GB Ultra microSDXC card up to 150 MB/s with A1 App Performance UHS-I Class 10 U1”

TBH, I already feel like I need 512GB now the multisample thing happened, so maybe I should just get a better one.
Guessing there might be a list on their forum somewhere?
sd card comparison on 1010 forum.
Moreover, it is a good practice not to hot-swap the sd or only to hot-swap with an empty preset loaded. Otherwise, sometimes references to files in the currently loaded preset are lost in such way that you’d need to “reload” the wave per pad.
I would have thought so too, but it seems to happen whether I power down or not.
Going to try a different card formatted with the SD card formatter and see how that goes.
Does anybody know:
Which firmware version was the last, where you could set the midi out channel per pad? I absolutely need this feature (and I think, that I have to downgrade to this version).
I would try one of the latest 2.x versions for this purpose.
@g3p2 is right, @DelayDude.
Per-pad MIDI output is unfortunately a feature we dropped, at least for live playing. It’s still in sequences, though (SEQS->Pick a sequence, dropdown PADS/KEYS/MIDI).
We really overhauled a lot of that, and some of the changes we made were breaking to people’s workflow, unfortunately.
just did my first automated multi-sample and it feels like I finally live in the future. Am expecting my jetpack to be delivered anytime now!
How to do automated multisample?
Trying to move beyond just turning my BB on, loading some samples into pads and then jamming for an hour. I know this wee beast is more than that…
Focus damn you…
Damn you’re thorough. Looks like you have one for the mc101 too. Is this a thing you do for all your gear?
