I forgot the old Faderfox, it helps me offset the LFOs and select slices on the BB. The 4x4 grid is perfect for the BB.

@circuitghost How did you get on with this setup ? Is it practical to sequence external gear with the BB ?

Yes, very much so. As some have stated here, the Blackbox is fiddly as far as interface goes to work with sequences, but it’s powerful and flexible and totally worth it, for me. I tend to live record most of my stuff into the Blackbox, either from a keyboard or from the Blackbox grid or key input itself, and then use the encoders to adjust sustain, pitch, timing and stuff, if need be.
And it really isn’t that fiddly either, once you’ve learned the contact points of the screen. But granted, getting there isn’t entirely devoid of pain.

I use a passive stylus… helps a lot.

I’ve actually even put the Deluge away now, as far as sequencing goes. Probably not forever, but I just reach more interesting places with the Blackbox sequencer.
I looked for a stylus recently for something else, and couldn’t see any obvious options (Finished up using one from an ancient PDA)

If push came to shove, I’d manage with just the Prophet 12 and the Blackbox.
It’s essentially what I use now, but resampling through my Chase Bliss stuff and having the CXM 1978 and SiX for mastering and summing, I’d miss that sorely if I couldn’t do that.
But otherwise, rig’s pretty small these days.

A stylus is a great addition to the BB. I just got a cheap basic one from Amazon and it’s great. Let’s see if this link works…

I can’t find the link but I took the cheapest I found on amazon. It’s really just a small tube with a conductive rubber but it does the trick.

That was what I found last time I guess. That didn’t suit my search criteria at the time, but it seems to be the accepted thing for screens like ipad/iphone.
Often the ones for android and iOS (like the Apple Pencil) connect via Bluetooth and are much more accurate. For the black box, you just want one of the simple ones.

Anybody using a BB with a Takt or Tone? I’ve got a DT here I’m starting to love, and want to freak them together (I almost never own two pieces of gear so this is my first time running two samplers at once!)
Anything paired with the BB is great.
Use the BB to live sample your DT and ease transitions between patterns. Or sequence the BB from the DT so you have access long stereo samples pads and textures.

Got a Bitbox Micro. Is there a dedicated program for loading WAVs to the SD card?
I just got my Blackbox, but can post some findings when I get a minute to try it. It’s set up with a Bluebox, Digitone, and Hydrasynth Keyboard.
Like your Windows explorer or Mac finder ?

Was curious if anyone has used their Blackbox with Ninja Jamm Pro. Seems like they check a lot of the same boxes. With Ninja Jamm Pro you get four channels with nine sequencers each (modulation, slice, pitch/reverse/drill and gate) and up to 64 patches, allowing a 2,304 sequencers. It has Inter-App audio, MIDI Learn, and instant pattern recall like Digitakt/Model Samples. Looks like they would be a lethal combo.
