0-coast vs. Mother32 vs. Pittsbugh Sv1

You said the magic words.

I had a M32, but didn’t like the panel layout and the sequencer is not great or intuitive for me. As others have said the sound is pretty Moog-y all the time (which is great, just not every time you want it). Truth be told if Make Noise brought out the 0-Coast 6 months earlier I would of been all over it. More CV options in terms of modulation / random etc built in. So I just bought an 0-coast from Control with 10% turkey sale 2 seconds ago. haha

I’m in line behind you. Hurry up.

Make sure to put it through a spring reverb…

ā€œCause what else would you possibly run something like this through?ā€ :joy::joy::joy:

EDIT: I still don’t like the plucky leads. Everything else though…

selling maschine + komplete 09, and buying 0-coast + reaktor 6 (99€ till end of november) for the same price…

make noise 0-coast will be great paired with my dominion X and octatrack,

I think one cannot really compare the 0-C to more classical substractive synths…

Any UK people seen the ludicrous price Rubadub are selling the Mother 32 for? Ā£709!! Definitely makes the 0 Coast more attractive, if you’re on the fence.

It’s certainly rocketed in price. Ā£640 on guitarguitar and juno. I paid Ā£500 for it 6 months ago from the latter!

Trumponomics.

That’s crazy I bought mine 630€ less than a month ago… I love the Mother, it sound huge and putting it through a reverb is pure heaven.

The 0-Coast tempts me but i’m saving for my first modules and case and I think that in the end I’ll be happier. Although these box are great for instant gratification…

I just bought it ! 0 Coast will be mine, yes, it will be mine !!

Thanks Mylar’s hands and Nick Batt’s (always interesting) reviews

No Love for the Pittsburgh Black Box SV1?

I’d like to get the Liferorms Sv1 black box. This made me want one.

I’m almost convinced to pair the system1m with the 0-coast together with a strymon el capistan  I sold some stuff to get these… The system 1m just because the polyphonic option and the versatile oscillators.
I think this combination will keep me busy with patching  Would be great to combine it with Reaktor Blocks, I already used them a lot. I’m not sure if the Native Komplete Audio is Dc coupled, would be great if it works.
I’m sure the mother and lifeforms are both awesome as well.

Congrats! Give us a report how you like it

Just got my 0-coast, hadn’t really thought of the Roland as a companion, was more thinking about a Mother 32, but that’s actually a great shout the more I think about it.

Anyway, imho if you already have a reasonable analogue mono, go for the 0-coast first, it’ll take you places subtractive synths can’t. And it’s capable of sounding super sweet as well as the Krells, drones and experimental stuff.

As I’ve said on the other thread about the 0coast, I would honestly consider buying a second 0coast. Maybe even before the mother32 or sv1. The 0coast is really one of the first pieces of gear I’ve bought where the results after getting ahold of it far exceeded my expectations. It totally does the weird bleeps thing but it can also do amazing melodic and bass patches. And with a very interesting process that encourages exploration while being able to to yield very musical and unique sounds. I look forward to learning it more deeply which is something I can’t say about nearly enough of my gear.
