Playing live with Analog Rytm MKI + Octatrak MKII

Hello all

New to the forum so hopefully this gets some useful responses.

I would like to start playing live using the Rytm MKI and Octa MKII. The rytm would take care of the drums and the OT would hold samples / loops of the other elements of the track.

What I need to figure out is how you would transition from one ‘track’ to another. I assume to some combination of kits and patterns but I haven’t found a seemless transition without it stopping playback.

Looking forward to hearing your ideas

Create transition patterns, basically. There is a more advanced transition trick using the Octatrack that relies on routing the Rytm through it, which essentially records a loop that you can keep playing while you load a different, new pattern in underneath, and then use the crossfader to mix across like a DJ mixer. I’ll find a link, hold on…

I am using just banks. 1 bank 1 track. All set is in one project. So just play whit banks, mute - unmute and maybe start stop in beat if something goes wrong

Hey! Thank you for the videos - really useful! I tried this today and it worked well
