Looks like preorder only right now. They send a few out for review prerelease for youtube press. Should be released in the next few weeks.

I received my MS70-CDR+ yesterday. Bought on Woodbrass and received in 3 days.

I only had 1 hour to test it. I found that the sound is cleaner than on the og one, less noise. The UI is far better. I appreciated some new FX such as the freezer and the small looper. Good for ambient.

I will take time to test it again but I can say that I’m happy

How to do you reach the tap tempo window on the plus version?

Thanks.

Wondering if the new effects are portable to the older models? I don’t suppose you know?

I didn’t try it yet but the manual says that you must add a module called “BPM” in the chain.
It seems that this module is really considered as a module regarding the 6 modules per patch limitation. So if you add the BPM module in a patch, only 5 free modules slots remain.

Yes I don’t know sorry.

can the new one sync to midi clock somehow?

Double Zoom like h90 would be cool im dumb.

I don’t think. Maybe in a future update…

Quite a few OG MS-70 CDR’s are starting to hit the used market. They were pretty much non-existent a few weeks ago…Probably best to wait a little, but perfect time to snatch one of these.

I see on the midi chart that it can accept program changes - does that mean you can use program changes to switch presets on the CDR?

It would seem so… which is excellent news

Ohhh right I remember now. But it’s only usb midi which for me is a bummer.

Was hoping for at least a Trs-midi in. Do you guys know if you can just get a usb-to-trs midi adapter and have it work that way?

I replaced my MS-70CDR with the MS-70CDR+ which was available from Woodbrass (this no longer seems to be the case at the time of writing of these lines). I used/I use the MS-70 for guitar but also with my synths (like many of us). I haven’t had time to test it too much but here’s what I can say about it:

On the negative side:

  • It’s stupid but on the first version of MS-70 the 3 rotaries were labeled above (under the screen). On the new MS the labels are under the 4 rotary buttons. This means that when you use the MS-70+ placed on a table in front of you (with its synths for example), you can no longer read the labels due to the angle. It’s a detail and I will quickly know the function of the 4 rotaries without reading the labels but hey, at first it’s a bit annoying.
  • It seems that to date, there is no possibility of recovering the effects of MS-50+ unlike older versions. On my MS-70, for example, I deleted some unnecessary FX (Bomber for example) in favor of some distortions from the MS-50.

In average point:

  • Overall its slightly better in term of sound quality, at least I think so, but nothing spectacular honestly. I had high hopes for the Shimmer. But nothing that allows me to say that it’s a good shimmer versus Hall of Fame 2 for example.
I listened to comparisons of the old and new generation MS-50. On distortions (which the MS70+ does not have), the progress seems much more obvious to me.
I note, perhaps less noise, more transparent. But I sold the MS70 before getting the MS70+. I can’t make an objective comparison.

On the positive side:

  • There is one more slot for a total of 6 chained effects and I did not experience any overloads during my tests… It can change a lot of things.
  • There are some new effects that really interest me like the Hold Delay, the Hold Reverb, the Loop Roll or the Polyphonic Pitch Shifter. That’s really cool.
  • The user interface is clearly an important improvement with the colors, the 3 buttons, the drop-down menus, the horizontal classification of effect families.

Conclusion
So. It’s up to you to see if the 100€ difference between an used MS-70 and a new MS-70+ is worth it…
For me it’s ok with the improvement of the interface, a larger memory capacity and the few new effects.

Thanks for the write up @Rank31, very helpfu!

Did you try the midi program change to change the presets?

Not yet. I will try to find time tonight to test it with the DN.

It would be great from Zoom to offer the full control of effects parameters thru midi.

I have a ms70cdr pedal with the firmeware V. 2.0 an actually I can’t to do the factory reset process because when I press the first Knob and turn on the pedal the message to confirm process not show. The pedal turn on but not give me the option for confirm to factory reset.

I would like to reset my pedal because there is another problem with them. I can’t to use the page knob for emule my effects. This button stopped to work, It’s not working more. Why?
