Zoia cuts low end?

I got my zoia connected to an A4, SE02, Sirin. All synths can go very low in sound. No matter what audio processing i do, the zoia cuts the low end. anybody encountered the same?

on the zoia i have the input gain set to -12db, adjusted the output to +3db which matches the bypass volume. i have my hd650 directly connected to the output of the zoia.

could this be an impedence effect? the inputs of the zoia are made for guitars, not really for synths or line levels and my headphone is like 300ohm.

this happens even on overdrive and fuzz, but on the reverbs with low eq on 0db too.

have you tried attaching the Zoia outs to a mixer or something? They’re not really headphone outputs.

Yeah, headphones cannot reproduce bass fundamentals, so they’re not very reliable for listening to those frequencies.

The Zoia isn’t designed to drive headphones, especially not a high impedance pair. Monitor through a mixer or audio interface.

you were right. it seems the zoia has a true bypass, so all the power from the synth reaches the headphone in bypass.

when i switch the bypass off the bass in the headphones was gone. after connecting the zoia to a headphone amp the bass was back!
so the output of the zoia is really not made for headphones. good to know.

thanks for the help
