Your Setups (Part 2)

Super simple. The lowest shelf sits on 4 legs and the highest shelf is screwed on the lowest shelf with two 20 degrees angled legs.

I wired everything, did an Ableton Live/Overbridge template and did some reshuffling based on workflow. The DT is more convenient on the first row and I’ve added the Memotron, KS37 and Microcosm in the equation.

Sorry for the less-than-24-hour double setup post.

You sold your AR ?:flushed::pleading_face:🄹

Yes.
I needed money for my :tooth: and this was the Elektron I was using the least.

Yes indeed.
I like some wood work.
My back as well.

I could only count 3, or 4 if you count AH+Fx.

Sad to read that. So marvelous standalone drum machine

As soon as i could, i join a Syntakt to my AR. But i think i will wait for 2 or 3 years before (syntakt 2 with samples, patchbay and separate outs).

Maybe i’ll bought a second AR before,

Sure, but I already have a Machinedrum that I love more, and a Syntakt that is more compact and easier to bring for jams and live sessions.
Plus I feel that it sounds better, it offers more machines for percussion and better bass.
If I need samples, DT and OT do the job better.

But I might get another AR in the future, who knows…

Just installed an 88 key hammer action for Pianoteq etc. So its only really good for piano.

The launchpad is fine for synth programming but also points at pianoteq for steel/space drums.

The other ipad ( drums ) does have control from faderfoxes but no launchpad or keyboard.

Its basically a drum/bass ipad ( 10 drums machines but as tracks )

You basically get all additional host/track/module goodness added to the drum instances.

Then a synth ipad.

Then I guess a low buffer setting classical instrument ipad.

All in Drambos.

All ipads could be low buffer but 10 Fac drums plus a Moog Mariana does go more than 50%.

So maybe just the output ipad ( with pianoteqs etc ) can be low buffer, aswell as synth ipad.

Not too bothered about a drum ipad not being low buffer, for drum triggers.

Not sure about buffer ting but multi ipads maybe gives buffer versitlity.

One was really well hidden

Yes indeed.
So immediate, yet full of possibilities…and alive with autonomous squirches, earthy-fuzz and other sonic matter that I didn’t even know existed!

Not two OGs. I have an OG and a Digitakt II. Not sure I’m keeping the OG. Just hanging on to it for now.

Not sure if I posted in this thread before but anyways my set up has gone through a lot of changes the past year or so.
Here’s what I have going on right now:

9U eurorack modular
Korg minilouge XD
Behringer ms20
Behringer Cat
Behringer wasp
Lenovo legion i9 (running Ableton+tons of softsynths, mixing and mastering plugins etc)
ASM Hydrasynth explorer
Roland SP404mk2
Elektron machinedrum UW
Elektron Octatrack
Elektron Digitone
Clavia Nord Drum 2+ Nord pad
Plus lots of odds and ends, various microphones, guitars etc
Also a Promodded DMG gameboy running LSDJ, Commadore 64 running MSSIAH
and and iPad Pro with Drambo, Koala beats, tons of softsynths and effects though I don’t consider the iPad part of the studio since I haven’t figure out how to integrate it yet.

It’s a lot less than I had before, I’ve been trying to narrow my studio down to things I need/use as opposed to collecting lots of synths, within the last year and a half I ditched the Analog rytm, Analog four, Dave smith Pro 2, Moog grandmother and Virus TI polar. I wanted to invest more in bringing drums into my modular/having lots of things I can sculpt interesting drum sound on. And avoid too much overlap between what I can do in software.

I had to really step back and evaluate what I liked in theory and concept versus what I liked in practice and also had to really not lie to myself about how I felt about how specific synths/drum machines sounded. I’ve always struggled with what an instrument can do on paper vs how it sounds in its core.

Nice setup! Do you know if it is possible to midi merge 2 uc4 to have 16 faders from channel 1 to 16? I am trying to find this kind of controller for the DT ii

Yes, the Faderfoxes are really good at merging and you can even change settings on how and what they merge separately for the USB and MIDI ports (check the manual). You can assign a MIDI channel for each of the elements on each Faderfox, so it shouldn’t be an issue. You need to have a plan and maybe write down what each knob or fader does, as you might forget later and the display is only showing values when moving a knob or slider in edit mode, jumping to the next value. They’re quite easy and flexible to program overall though.
