I wish there was an option to have the tempo light on/off.
Lots of nice pieces. What would be your definite keepers?
That works. Never had to be pretty, just effective.
Thank you!
Solidā¦would totally werk. Would totally go against my neat freakish tendencies.
And I think a system setup option is totally reasonable.
I need to use them all together, see what clicks.
Shame I donāt currently have space for my nord ,rytm,a4 etc
And most of the actual stuff Iāve made is on iOS and ableton.
One setup per 303 clone!
This set-up is delivering consistently good results lately.
I donāt usually use them all at once. Too much to keep track of. 2-3 at a time at the most. But the option is there.
One thing led to another. I wanted to have easy access to my latest acquisition the V-Synth XT and for that I needed to buy a couple of tabletop racks. Quite a small setup but perfectly formed. Itās quite nice to have the mixer/interface right in the middle in front of me and the Digis and the XP laptop on top of the racks.
This morning I dumpster dived a second identical XP laptop from our apartment building yard. Now I have a spare one. Still a bit of cabling to be done but otherwise everythingās in itās right place. Some free rackspace still for later acquisitions.
Life is good.
Do you work mostly in the box? How do you reach the digis?
I do everything in the box. The box is called MPC Live. I basically sequence all my other boxes with that and then record everything with the Zoom Livetrack. Iām not saying Dawless as that word seems to tick people off but I rarely use my DAW for anything except for recording the final mix.
Iād love to hear more about why you sequence the digitakt with the mpc live.
For me the Digitakt is the ādrum computerā of my setup. I could use the MPC for the drums too and sell the DT but I donāt have the heart to split the Digi-pair up. I feel more at home with the MPC sequencer than I do with the Elektron sequencer.
I realize that the sequencer on the Elektrons is one of the best parts of their gear, and I enjoy using it occassionally for some tasks, but for doing synth/pop/rock/hiphop/soundtrack-type of music I feel that the MPC sequencer suits me better. No limitations on sequence lengths etc.
Iām not much into repetition and short looping sequences. Not much of a technohead me.
hah I thought it would look different at your place
more like in your music videos / movies - shrines and neon-pentagrams dunno - this is the opposite
really cozy!
KE Field Kit FX FTW! I have both the Field Kit and the FX. Theyāre absolutely brilliant little boxes of fun. Iāve got the expansion packs but am eyeballing the sensors etc too
Spent a few months streamlining and downsizing to a much more focused setup. Thereās a mixer and a Quadraverb in a rack to the right. I still have my DX7 and my M:C is knocking about the house somewhere.
Might actually get some music made over the next few weeksā¦
Presume the space to the right of the OT is for a succulent.
Of course
Iām off to Dobbieās now to get one.
