Your Setups (Part 1)

On this foreground scientific diagram, you can see more or less where the screws are which secure the “booster” and the stand.
You can undoubtedly insert a pierced piece of wood
(the size of the missing space)
using larger screws
(of the thickness value of the wooden part)
in order to solve the “problem” of higher outputs on the Ot than on the Dt.
I only have one floor but I raised it this way to run the cables of my keystep
(which is flat on the desk just in front of the stand) below the Dt and Dn.

Thanks to @closencounters for his office, his machines, his cat and apartment for the example…

:man_shrugging: you seemed pretty dead set on it, so I figured minor cable expense wouldn’t be a big deal. keep hunting I guess!

there’s not much difference between top or bottom shelf though

If I didn’t already spend a ton on all kinds of cables in various lenghts I wouldn’t mind that much but at this point that’s the kind of cost I‘d gladly avoid. But since my idea of raising the top seems to be doable I might still go for it since I can‘t find anything remotely comparable. The Fonik stands are very expensive and the only other option I found for the DT-DN-OT combo.

Those are new synth circuit designs. That’s fun. No day job down here

Buy some wood, take a Saw and some Screws, and build the Stand for your needs. It is really not that difficult and might be a perfect project to start woodworking

This is an overview of my current live/jam/writing rig.

The DeepMind is a new addition… I thought the Peak would be fine as my only polysynth in my rig, but I find myself using it for basses and arps quite a lot, then leave myself without a poly voice for chords, so the DM should solve that.

I also have an Octatrack waiting in the wings, I wasn’t sure whether to rotate it with the Analog Rytm or incorporate it fully.

I am going to swap the Behri desk for either an Allen & Heath Xone 96 or a DB4 (the would also give live looping that the OT would cover…).

Interested to hear thoughts on this…?
Where would you place the OctaTrack in the chain?

My setup is fairly similar to yours, and was even moreso when I had the Keystep as my midi controller. I had the Keystep first in the chain followed by the Octatrack. Then I had a Kenton midi thru 12 after that but no problem in using midi thrus, obviously.

Hello everyone, here’s my modest setup/space.

This idea started last year with the whole locked at home thing, i wanted something that i could move around in the flat, and that wouldn’t be too much an eye sore. Also i didn’t have any desk space so the idea of a rolling case was born.

Because i was new to hardware i research for a bit an settled on a Minilogue XD, followed by a Digitakt to be the brain. Added the Behringer Pro1 later and some other bits and pieces. Of course everything is constrained by space so i chose carefully and for something as versatile as possible.
I use this with either my old Apple laptop (Ableton Live) or an iPad with Aum as the digital mixer.

Inside the box are a 7 plugs power strip with a 3m cable so that i only have to connect one thing. And also a 7 plugs usb hub with a long lead that allows me freedom to connect the whole thing to either iPad or laptop.

Height wise i use it from the edge of my sofa or a small stool.

I also want to say thank you to the whole Elektron community because you guys have been instrumental in my learning journey!

Me like ikeahacks. The eurorack case is awesome! :slightly_smiling_face:

My 19” rack is an old Ikea Lack side table. Some fx and my interface on the table itself. Neat.

Needs a separate thread for ikeahacks

All I’ve really been doing for the past few weeks is engineering and housekeeping, as it turns out. And a little piano practice. Some jams, but not as much recording as I’d like.

Today I’ve been experimenting with using the mixer in a way I didn’t initially expect, where the Mackie+OT+Zoia are essentially a single mixer/FX unit for the synths (Aux->OT, OT Cue->Zoia->Mix return). It sounds pretty good so far, but there’s still some configuration/rewiring to do. And what do I feed OT3/4? SP404 maybe?

Anyway, this is my favorite setup yet. Now with the tabletop rack, everything is within arms reach instead of under the desk – finally I’m using the NR2 like I always wanted, and the primary station (OT,A4,NR2,TR8S) is in a much more ergonomic position.
