Your Digitakt-only "Productions" - do you have some?! ;-)

Thanks. Something different.

i posted this on the media page, will copy pasta below:

this is a demo straight from the digitakt. yes it is goofy

just prior to this, i got real heavy into graphic novels and read about 50 before getting the digitakt

just got completely immersed in the worlds of cyberpunk like transmetropolitan, horror like swamp thing, sandman, and hellblazer, and general early 90s weirdness like doom patrol.

i put down my guitar, stopped singing.
i just sat at my desk late into the evenings, making a shit ton of weird samples in ableton, processing them with loads of distortion and mixing them with dry signals in an effects rack. almost everything got thrown through a VHS emulator.

then i just made patterns, making copies and ‘chaos’ banks to add layers of chaos to the songs.

i didn’t spend time mixing this thing but it did get thrown through ozone as one giant track

thanks for the like @J3RK!

Of course!

I like the themed set. Also, I’m a huge cyberpunk junkie. Books, movies, games, musical themes, etc. etc. I probably play System Shock and System Shock 2 every other year (since release) too  Can’t wait for the CD Projekt Cyberpunk 2077 game.

I’ve actually made some music here or there over the years, that kind of evoked images of Straylight or the sprawl while I was writing them for one reason or another.

Good stuff!

Now that I wrote this response, I kind of want to do some more music based on mental images of some of this stuff. I think the Digitone ought to do the trick. A lot of my favorite older cyberpunk games had FM music. (Snatcher, Shadowrun, etc.)

A couple of sections of your set kinda give me that raining, neon-soaked, “standing outside the club” scene sort of feel.

my lady said it was ‘space-age music for Pachinko machines’

Nice  As a former owner of two Pachinko machines I can see it. Kind of a similar thing with the lighting I mentioned above. Pachinko machines kind of have a similar thing going on. More of a primitive game, but with plenty of sensory overload.

With the exception of a few tracks I’ve done on my recently purchased Octratrack, and a couple months making some music on an MPC Live (which I returned because it was glitchy), almost all of my music has been made strictly on a Digitakt since September 2017. It’s an extraordinary machine.

I’ve not uploaded tracks to SoundCloud, because I’m trying to figure out how to best properly multi-track the Digitakt into Ableton. So what I’ve been doing is recording the tracks into one Ableton track as demos, and then making little micro music videos for them, whether it’s found or original footage, which I then publish on Instagram.

If anyone wants to hear the songs and see the videos, follow the link below. I work in an ambient techno/IDM, psychedelic and shoegaze vein.

Hey Guys,

here are some Digitakt Productions of the Buds @ Work crew!
We are using two Digitakts mostly and Effectpeddals like the Jomox Resonator II, Moogerfooger Lowpass and Walrus Audio Decent. On both Digitakts we use the Akai Midimix to arange the mix. Lately i use the Digitakt with resampled loops and i find out it is very funny and creativ to mix them. I think it is very handy and simple to play a live-set.

Thank you for the very nice exaples of the Digitakt and Greeting to the community.
Enjoy the sound!

and some hard mix :smirk:

Live @ the Reactor Core

My first time sharing a ‘demo’ of sorts! I know it’s incredibly rough, but this was a challenge I set myself for a few reasons - mainly because I wanted to try making something all from the one synth with no presets, and expand beyond a four-bar loop arrangement to make something a little more progressive.

This is all SH-01A samples run through a few different FX chains on a Zoom MS 70 CDR, sampled into the Digitakt and arranged across 8 patterns. Recorded live in one take as stereo out of DT into an Edirol R-09, some compression and saturation added in Reaper.

My second attempt at playing a song I’ve made on the DT “Live”. Felt it went better than the first one at least
