I’d use the leftover cash to buy monitors, recording interface and a laptop. This rig could be used for recording and performing and should easily fit into a hatchback. Further, you could write and record complete projects without your computer. You have the VA polyphony, bread and butter sounds, multitimbrality, modular analog and 3 sampling powerhouses that should be able to cover any genre. You could sub in an Akai MPC Live for the Roland MV if you prefer something more modern and could still fly in under $10k.

MV8000 for $500? Must be a lucky shot. In EU it is more a 700EU deal at the moment, too much really.

$399 or $500. Take your pick.
Roland MV8000 in good working condition. Most recent 3.54 operating system and maxed out RAM at 512mb. Few cosmetic issues that do not affect performance. See pics. I've sampled into it and checked the buttons, pads, sliders and dial. Everything...

$1000.
Amazing synth. Lots of polyphony, multitimbral, individual patch effects, and loads of modulation sources/destinations. Comes with power supply and rack ears
While I’m at it, here is a K2000 for under $500.
Did any other prices look incredulous?

Buy a used Ford Econoline and acoustic treat the inside and with the left over money reacquire all my previous gear.
Also have the same graphics as the Scooby van but in black & grey electron mk1 colors and instead of those flowers it will be digis and analog heats.
Also it would be named MysteryMachines.

Yes, my Reverb feed is filtered on EU sellers though

The OP didn’t specify a currency so I just went with my local form of specie.
You can change locale on Reverb, btw.

i´d spend most of it for speakers, a small(ish) but good mixing desk and a cirklon sequencer.
then a bunch of nice and epensive fx pedals (reverb,delay,drive,compressor,filters,etc.).
a sampler (Octatrack - i´d wish i could replace it with something else)
some cheaper (drum) synths, gimmicks, sequencers
o.k. no money left -
but no problem - if i had that budget now i´d do it that way.
pretty sure i could afford some cables and a crappy 2-track recorder anytime soon after that investment …

I’d rather not derail the thread. There is a multipage thread on the Drumatix over at Muffwiggler that is quite informative.
The PDF manual also goes over all its capabilities.

I’m in the process now, although it as much about getting rid of stuff as it is adding/replacing.
I’m going for “Less but Better” minimalist approach. The battle station should hopefully be operational in January.
