Yamaha tenori on

Hi there, im intarested to sequence my gears with this product, wich appear so good to sequence anything, but in many videos i seen i never find how set for example different velocity, note lenght, filters ecc for each step, i want control via midi other gears and i need for sure volocity, note lenght and hope for a kind of parameter lock too by the LCD screen, so somebody heve it or have try to use it? do you know if it can be a perfect sequencer for all midi interfaces?
A§so tenori on is a sampler and so, wich parameters i can use on samples?
Thanks in advance!

For those applications it is not the best, the midi sequencing is ok, very basic. The sampling is just 3 banks of 16 x 0.97sec samples, no pitch control or timbre editing.

Erm, sorry can’t remember what else you asked as I can’t see your post while replying, argh!

Copy/past of the first post… Sorry, i cannot reply with quotes on iPad…

So the answers: no parameters locks on Tenori. No velocity changes. The volume velocity is set for the whole pattern and layout. The same for Note lenghts. There are no filters on Tenori.
As ever said, this midi sequencer is very basic.

What is revolutionary on Tenori in terms of sequences is the ways you play/record music, the “modes”:

  • Score mode can be compare to a 2D step sequencer. Time on X axis and note pitch on Y axis
  • Random, Draw, Bounce, Push modes are totally exclusive ways to play/records.

I love the Tenori. Very poetic and creative for me. I can make hypnotic loops very quickly and easily. But it has a lot of limitation. Even the sounds are sweet for me.

If you have an iPad, iPod or iPhone, you can download and try the iapp “iTenori” and try it.
