Yamaha CS01 love anybody`?

saw these 2 babies second hand… could not not buy both … jeeee so much fun! … so simple, so small, so toyish, so old… so full of character! … soooooo … could stack these in my room, honestly! … wish to compare with a mk2 model …

good times! so simple, I almost understand what I am doing … got the SH101 as well,… it is like their brother from another mother …

.
this synth sounds like a mix of donkey kong and moogs little sister…

Yes! I love the CS01. I’m borrowing a friend’s one at the moment but it’s really beaten up, with some dodgy mods and broken keys.

But yeah, I love how it can sound super chippy, when the filter is open and PWM is rockin’.

Yeah PWM is killer .
Mines on the bench awaiting its midi input mod. One day.

hey guys… midi and / or CV would be lovely… but I d like to see a mod where the battery fucntionality would not be compromised! …

which other mods do you have ? who does these reliably? how much are these?.

bear in mind, that another use in this forum “jokingly” said the word Sh808 instead of Sh101, and I was blown away by what I found after googling it …

glad I bought 2 x cs01s at once … so no worries about having to mod 1 of them… just hard to decide whether I take the black or the grey one … also would like to have the mk2 model … but these little fuckers are actually not easy to come by, here in germany at least (unless you have too much money flowing around :stuck_out_tongue: )

Sorry, cant remember where, but I found mods and the midi in kit online.

Highly Liquid makes the MIDI kit. They have even instructions especially for CS01 on their forum.

Thats the one.
They are fantastic. I stuffed up the power and blew my chip, they sent me a new one free of charge :+1:.

hmmm not having a soldering iron, but having a voltmeter (which I have no idea how to use), having never sodlered anything but having an osciloscope (for shits and giggles) … would the highly liquid UMR2 http://www.highlyliquid.com/

be too much for a first ever project?

Hard to say. Its just soldering jumper wires to the board, but finding the points on your synth/speaknspell/whatever, could be difficult. Unless its one they discuss on there site with instructions.

Edit; there website has changed.

i guess i will let it rest for the moment … or, anybody around berlin to do the job for me? Guga?

9 years later, I reply to express my love for CS01! And I still use it today.
