Yeah I can get the MY8-AD24 for about £175 from someone but maybe the most logical thing to do right now is to get to learn this thing as deep as I can before starting to expand it. I absolutely like what I’m reading right now and I like the feel of this mixer. I think the price was great for a brand new unit too.
There are still 7 available £899.00 they are nearly double this price elsewhere when I googled before ordering.
That’s ~US $1250! Sweetwater has it for $2700.
Built like a tank. Installed a bunch of the earlier DM models in the 2000s, mostly universities. MLAN was great on paper, but a nightmare in practice.
I think maybe I got a great deal here, should I buy some more and sell them off lol?

I just couldn’t resist when I seen the price, yeah it’s big and its heavy but it looks amazing.
I want to try out the desks FX some time this week and see how they sound. I read the reverts are good. I’m going through the PDF manual tonight and probably the next month or so haha.
The shop is probably clearing out the last of the inventory before cutting the product. There’s not much demand for such complex mixers at that price point in shops that aim for musicians. The pro-audio crowd will buy them elsewhere anyway.
All the FX are good and there’s quite a selection. Channel EQ’s and dynamics are very usable, conversion, summing, routing is all pro stuff. Interface is annoying like all digital mixers but to get knob-per-function it would need to 4 times the size, so reasonable compromise.
Not much demand is good for me then hence I grabbed one… I like complex like to figure things out… I think its a great addition to my setup. It’ll take a while o learn but will be worth it.
We used the 02r many years ago. It’s a reliable piece of kit!

I’m on day 2 of reading the manual it’s a pretty deep mixer but I’m sure it’ll be fine once I get to know it a bit.
Seems to be packed with features but I haven’t hooked it up to anything yet still to try the FX etc so not sure how they’ll sound… Hope the Delay FX sync to midi tho I think I read somewhere they do. Also wondering if all the eq/fx etc are printed over usb or are they all pre fader? I’m not up to that part of the manual yet hehe.
