The thing really is really at a bit of an inflated price right now, some hipster or something made it popular, not positive of the origins of the price hike but it took a huge jump. This is similar to an autoharp, it was originally intended to be the synth equivalent of an autoharp sort of. Anyways, if it works for you there’s no problem with that, just beware that they used to cost $30 and right now they’re popular so the price is not too chill.
There is one positive though, if you’re patient, it looks like due to the popularity its being reissued so you can at least get a new one soonish we hope, as opposed to an old overpriced one, if you’re going to have to pay that kind of popularity tax on it anyways. I didn’t read the full details at the time, but I did see that it was happening and if you’re interested you can look at the suzuki site link.

Nothing to say you can’t buy one now though. There is also another thing which has kind of a bad reputation but I think has a similar function to what you want made by isla called the kordbot. This came out before the sp1200 clone that they make and a lot of people think it wasn’t really complete when they released it, but because of that you can get a kordbot relatively cheap.
Now I’m not saying it will be free, but I’ve seen some pretty low prices on reverb and also occasionally on other sites like music go round, you’d have to do some research and see if it’s what you are looking for in the omnichord but to me, it has some similar functionality.
