Just got the Xone:96, and it mostly has RCA connectors. But all my cables are Jack cables, standard stuff.
So I’ve started to use just RCA cables with RCA to Jack adapters, but don’t like this since they are prone to fail, and I don’t like long prolonged connectors standing out of my synths.
So I’m wondering. How are people hooking stuff up to their Xone mixers? Maybe by using RCA to Jack ( female ) dongles hanging from their mixers?
That’s common to virtual all DJ mixers, I think, unless you have for example an additional DSub 25 connection with balanced inputs like on the Model 1.
I think this is not possible with just the cable, because it is left/ right and not dual mono.
You’ll need something to mix/ blend the signal, like a mixer
My mono synth Doepfer Dark Energy is going into the left channel of the A4, where it is in mono position. Digitone works as well.
Otherwise I’ve splitted the mono in two mono signals with a y-adapter and hooked up ts-rca stereo.
Same here - a mono channel (e.g. AR kick out) taking up an entire stereo channel on my DJ mixer, using a signal splitter cable to deliver the mono signal to L and R entries.
You could maybe get something like a passive mixer and then use a splitter to put them into stereo or it might just have stereo out. Just be warned that passive mixers do lose level so your DJ mixer would need to be able to make up enough gain for that.
not sure if @darenager is still making passive mixers but I always liked the simple design on those ones. Not positive if the +10 gain on a DJ mixer is enough to make up a passive mixer or not.
