X (pingpong) parameter not working!

Hi everybody,

While testing the many parameter on the Digitakt to see the results they make on samples, I noticed that the X (pingpong) parameter on the Delay page has no impact on the sound. It says on the manual that the WID parameter controls the amount of panning for the pingpong, nevertheless the results are the same with or without the X enabled, meaning, no pingpong!

Is there any issue with this X parameter? I’m using the version 1.20A BTW.

PS1: I know you can achieve similar result with the LFO…
PS2: The picture is from the WEB, mine has Volume and Delay up and it’s working well, just without the pingpong effect.

Seems like you got the Volume all the way down :face_with_monocle:

As Lauli said above, your delay volume is set to 0, so you won’t hear it.

The pingpong mode is for the delay effect; it means each delay will alternate between left and right. You’ll need to turn up the delay send level for the track, as well as the volume in the delay page, in order to hear its effect.

That’s a picture from the Web, mine has the volume up
Like I say, the Delay works but not in a pingpong fashion.

How are you monitoring your signal from the Digitakt? Does the regular pan on the amp page of the tracks have effect?

Hi, I’m using Headphones, and yes, everything works including the WID with X disable, the issue is that WID gives the same result no matter X is enabled or not, always giving a fixed left or right pan. Yes, the PAN works as expected.

Huh weird, can’t think of much more.
Maybe you need some more delay feedback? You know, to get the delay actually jumping around the panorama and not just die after the first echo.

What’s your feedback level? If it’s low enough that you only get one delay, you won’t hear the pingpong effect.

Hi, the Feedback level is 50.

Is it possible you are somehow summing the headphones to mono with a mono headphone adaptor? Do any other sounds on the unit pan left and right?

I don’t have a Digitakt, so I can’t test your exact situation, but here’s what the pingpong delay on my Digitone sounds like, with the following settings:

Time: 48
Width: 63
Feedback: 50

Recorded via USB, but sounds the same in headphones.

Yes it works, it was the Sample that didn’t allow to listing it clearly, now with a different sample similar to yours I can listing the effect, the WID now just sets the pan side where the pingpong starts.

Plugged your headphones into the left Jack?
