IMO a considerable improvement, even though the Frantone logo was perfectly fine:
(Hmm this might be easy to misinterpret. I think Franlab’s logo is better than the Frantone logo in my post.)

That’s my favorite logo.
Why do so many AI company logos look like buttholes? ![]()
The buttholes of humanity who pump out endless amounts of shit ![]()
It’s an awful logo with lots of character and so typical of it’s time. Oozes 70’s.

Because they’ve all somehow got it in their minds that Aperture Science (the fictional company from the Half Life universe) was the coolest thing ever and referencing it is also the coolest thing.
Aperture Science was one giant piss take on the whole idea of greedy, morally bankrupt & ethically challenged tech companies though. ![]()
I love my AlphaBase, but never really settled on whether I find the Jomox logo endearingly old school, or just plain ugly. Perhaps a big of both?
(Much nicer than the Behringer one though…)
I was gonna say Yamaha but it’s actually very cool when you dig into it.
Holy shit, I have this stashed somewhere…![]()
The new logo is trying too hard to be clever. It’s like, yea, sure, nice one on using all those waveforms, but did you notice it’s ugly?
Most good logos aren’t witty, theres actually something quite amateur about it.
A good logo is simple, repeatable, recognisable, and often the logo on its own does very little heavy lifting, it’s the entire brand that you associate WITH the logo. Nike’s swoosh is iconic but it’s just a fairly unattractive tick.
Elektrons branding is good, but I think it’s because their design in general is good. Their logo, in a vacuum, on ugly bad gear, probably wouldn’t be any more likable than these other examples.
JoMoX looks and sounds like they make steam cleaners, or rotary compact disc cleaners, or handy sink utensil caddy’s or all of the above.
It has a combover ![]()
According to the Aboout Groove Synthesis web page it’s a nod to the sould and R&B label Stax Records. Bob Coover, co-founder of of Groove Synthesis, grew up in Memphis where Stax was based.
Brushscript on a teatowel.
