Workflow/setup/routing/case recommendation

I’ve been exploring the OT for some time and it was my first ever hardware box. At that time, i was often travelling and was looking for a all in one box to start discovering electronic music.
I spent years playing instrumental stuff with a traditional looper and wanted to pass to another level with live looping.
After trying to do all in one box, i felt limited with the OT: tricky to plan/arrange live recordings, 64 steps limitation, hard to use with busy hands, lack of tracks since using THRU tracks and mixing all ITB to get a good mix with only 2 outputs, using only loops, etc.

In January i got myself a DN in the hope it would get the more melodic stuff duty when the OT would be devoted to mangling and rythmic stuff. I also have a Microcosm on the CUE/FX loop of the OT.
Electric guitar, a launchkey mini MK3 and a Nord Drum 3P are also in the party.

Coming from instrumental music, i feel a bit overwhelmed with routing, what is doable, useful, etc.

So far, the configuration is:

Guitar -> looper -> C input OT
Nord Drum -> looper -> D input OT
CUE -> Microcosm -> AB inputs OT
DN -> soundcard
OT -> soundcard
The launchkey Mini used to be in Midi In of OT but somehow the lack of space on my desk and the fact i was confused with MIDI not answering to the keyboard on the DN made me disconnecting it since some time althoug i deally it would be back in the setup.

All is Midi/clock driven by the OT.

Maybe i should reduce the setup?

I have no idea what the gender of music would be called, my wish being to find a more or less definitive workflow for a while then jamming with it and find a more or less stable workflow. I tried the other way around but i am a bit tired and frustrated like that.
I’m still very much improvisation oriented and so used to the foot looper that i’m still using it in the setup (although maybe it’s not the best idea).

I’d appreciate any input, or recommendation if possible without buying new gear. Amixer would be great but i think i would be more than glad to invest in a case to fit all this and have it connected and easier to carry around. I live in countryside and to meet people to jam, i get mad always connecting/disconnecting every week.
If there’s any solution, DIY or not i would love to hear from it.

Just to be honest … if you look for simplicity and looping, check out good loopers. Saves you a lot of scratching your head.

If you only want to use audio for jamming along, you might also look to a box like the Roland SP-404 … would give you quite a lot of tracks, which can be as long as a song. There is no need to use this box as a LoFi Hip-Hop sampler :wink:
