Man, his Adagio For Strings remix was my peak hour trance tune at the clubs for years :frowning:

one of my fave tracks …esp the dubby spacey delays .

Big loss. His Pieces in a Modern Style was really seminal in bringing classical music to a new audience. He was smart enough not to make wholesale changes - the pieces hardly needed that - and instead just arrange them on synthesisers and add effects. They also spawned some killer remixes e.g. the Tiesto and Ferry Corsten remixes of Adagio for Strings.

RIP.

So sad to hear :disappointed:. The production on Ray of light was simply amazing - what a genius.

Ah man. Water From A Vine Leaf and his remix of Morgan King’s Free are towering examples of electronic music, with the latter absolutely going off when Sasha played it out. Plus Madonna’s Ray of Light album, still her most recent classic.

From Fascinating Rhythm to Montok Point, God Bless William Orbit.

Ray of Light era (deservedly) gets so much credit but i do wish he and Beth Orton had worked together more

Was just listening to Water from a Vine Leaf yesterday! Even though I’d known his name since Ray of Light, I hadn’t realized just how influential he was and only discovered some early work just recently.
