Again… I’m more than happy if it could have usb-c for at least midi sync (aside from file transfer), more RAM, better quality effects.
Cherry on top would be:
Overbridge
Ability to connect to iPads.

It’s more likely it will be a spiritual successor instead of an MK3.
Also don’t see it happening before the long awaited Machinedrum and Monomachine revivals.
Syntakt is the answer to “the long awaited MD and MM revivals”. I’m pretty damn sure it won’t happen.
I somehow assumed that’s what we’re all talking about at this point, despite the title of this thread.
Thinking there’s going to be some relatively small, iterative update to the existing model seems very unrealistic
A spiritual successor is the only logical, albeit very optimistic option
Not even close to MD or Monomachine. Doesn’t mean it’s not great in its own right, but it does not share much with the two gray legacy machines.
HAHAHA holy shit
I visit this thread from time to time because I find it strangely reassuring.
Elektron presents E-25 remix edition for their Digistuffs. Although looking cool, but why not taking the chance to present/reveal something really fresh and interesting?

Not far to go!!
Exactly, Digitakt is really good but i was missing the possibility to slice samples and the fader! (and stereo samples)
Hopefully they put it in the same casing format as A4 MK2 and Rytm MK2.
Octatrack with Analog Heat FX is basically Octatrack Mk3:
Seriously, what else could you ask for?
Polyphonic sample playback w/a new time stretch algorithm, make it a full poly sample based synth.
Exactly! And I wouldn’t even need OB.
I do feel this way about my ot mk2 and ah mk2 combo. Genuinely feels like a new machine
Heat FX effects on each of the 8 Octatrack Tracks?
That’s exactly the reason why I bought a AH +fx.
It can also be easily controlled via MIDI.
To be honest: I’m relatively sure that 89% of all people who absolutely need a MK3 don’t even use or understand 10% of their OT.
I think that is why they want a mk3. To get all the very nice usability features from the digi’s. And new usability ideas. I rely very heavily on live recording my performance into the sequencer, and the current octatrack doesn’t record note lengths, so I basically can’t use it to perform sample chops like I would really like to. Because the octatrack can’t record note lengths, I basically can’t use it for recording sample chops, any melodic lines, or really any live recording at all. Which means that I end up using it as an effects box and mixer and nothing else. Maybe playing some drum breaks from time to time.
Like yeah, if you program everything note by note, it is great. But I can’t work that way, so I need to use a different device to express myself musically. But the Octatrack is like 90% of the way to a perfect device for me. But that missing 10% makes it almost unusable for a lot of the things I would like to use it for.
Ricky Tinez switched back to his grey MK2 from AE for all his octatrack videos about 2 month ago. I think he know something and sold his AE for a good price before new machine coming)
