Will the OT Mk1 Manual Suffice for the Mk2

Long story, but have an OT Mk 1 manual, no OT, and about to buy a Mk2 - am I good to go or should I print a new MK2 one?

You can download the MKII manual from Elektron’s website and decide for yourself whether you need to print all or some of it.

Right, thanks - was looking for high-level guidance from those who already have, though . . .

Well, my high-level guidance would be that since you have access to all the necessary materials you could make your own decision.

In practical terms, the OS is the same for both MkI and MkII so the main difference is in the additional front panel controls on the MkII. Maybe you could print out the description of the front panel, but it’s equally likely that you could find your way around the machine without any hardcopy. (Which version of the MKI manual do you have?)

This really is something that you can judge best for yourself on the basis of your own experience.

Since the OT is a machine clustered with key shortcuts (and so is its manual), I guess its better to have a new one due to the added buttons.

Additional benefit (depends on when you have printed the Mk 1 manual): it contains the latest and greatest infos.

(not to say there has changed much since the conditional trigs:wink: )

Thank you! This is quite helpful

I would suggest not to print. In pdf it’s very easy and fast to search.

You could use the Mk1 manual and then just print Mk2 shortcuts on a few pages.
