There must be an on off switch somewhere that allows them to work. I know it’s something simple. Just don’t see it
Youre on AMP pg 2/2 and turning the coresponding encoders doesnt work?
I guess it is working. I just don’t think I know enough about the parameters in there. My bad.
Audio Routing all being sent FX (6/6)?
Another issue could be: if you’re using the effects for the inputs, they dont work after you press stop twice fast. To make them work again, you have to press a trigger in an internal track first.
Interesting. I’m assuming you mean stop twice on the digitone, rather than whatever else I may be using. And this can account for why I can reproduce the “problem”
What exactly do you mean using the effects for inputs?
I’m not sure what you mean by that.
I think what I’m trying to say is there seems to be no space at all in between noticing some delay and my monitors being overwhelmed by aggressive noise, when turning up the feedback know. I’m guessing the feedback knob is actually for noise. If that’s the case, what knob makes the delay effect audible?
Feedback essentially controls how many echoes there are before it fades away to silence. Above halfway it’ll start amplifying each echo rather than attenuating, so it’ll eventually start getting uncontrollable. Sometimes this effect is desired, but if not, keeping it under the halfway point will stop the delay from going out of control.
The DEL parameter on the second AMP page on each track is for delay send:
If you haven’t turned this up, you won’t hear any delay. If you start from a fresh pattern, you’ll hear delay on your sound immediately when turning this up.
So after messing around a little bit. I noticed all the delay was going to track 1. I guess I didn’t notice because I’ve been working primarily on track 2. And that page two answers a lot of questions I haven’t had yet. Yea you were spot on with that reply. Page two had the delay turned all the way off. Makes sense now. Thanks man.
it sounds like youve turned up the Master delay parameters, likely the master feedback. Did you press FUNC + FLTR to mess with the delay? THose are the Master Parameters, which influence ALL tracks and External Inputs. You could turn all those parameters to 127 and it wont do shit until youve added delay to the track itself, accessible per track on AMP pg 2/2.
Elektron Delay will feedback on itself if you turn it up past 100 and it will get pretty crazy pretty fast if you do so (but you can control that with the filter, so its actually pretty fuckin cool).
Word. So how do I make sure not to have master fx and only have whichever fx for specific tracks? I did end up seeing amp page 2/2. Totally the reason I was having trouble getting any fx to work.
…wow…that’s slick…
now u gonna learn about send fx…means, ur three fx devices, that delay (hell yeah, feedback beyond 100 results in sheer noise at some point, becareful with ur ears and speakers) a reverb and a chorus…each single one is only there ONCE, since they’re SEND fx bound to the master bus…
each of ur instrument/sequencer trax and the external inputs have the option to send their signal partly or even full wet through those fx units…to add their make up to the master…so u got NO insert fx for each of ur tracks…“only” SEND fx…
wait til u hear/learn first time about parameter locking…
Word. I’m still soaking all that in atm and have not made it to parameter locks yet. I want to center my next tracks percussions around the parameter locks, but I’ve been dragging so long on this last one, learning new things here and there to get to the next step. It’s been a bit of a journey, but I’m looking forward to unlocking the parameter locks.
