Why do people not like Pickup Machines?

They were, and I knew that when I got it. What I didn’t know is that PUMs don’t work at all with external MIDI clock (at least not with any clock source I’ve ever tried, including standalone high resolution clockks) and regular flex and static machines don’t loop properly with external MIDI clock if you turn off timestretch (the OT syncs really tightly to external clock, but that means the baseline level of jitter that’s inherent to MIDI is enough to mess with loop points and cause gaps and clicks).

Both of those things only ended up being minor annoyances - it would be nice if the OT didn’t have to be the master to work reliably with loops (live looping or playback, with flex or static) but it’s usually not the end of the world and I’m really glad I didn’t know in advance because it sounds like a pretty major flaw on paper.

EDIT: just noticed the date on the post I’m responding to. I got a new notification about it for some reason.

Dunno, I’d rather do the pickups myself. More personal. Hard to get a good one-liner right there and then at the spot because it always happens when you least expect it, but hey, they should at least be thankful I try. Still waiting to hear a good one from the ladies themselves.

Wait, what are we actually talking about again?
