Why are my RAM playback from the audio inputs so quiet?

heres my set up:

nord rack3 >>> audio out >>> Machinedrum Audio in A+B >>> Audio outs to my PC with ableton

RAM Record 1 with:
MLEV: -64
MBAL: 0
ILEV: 0 (so set to record as is - which is just about as loud as my drum beat playing)
IBAL:0
CUE1:0
CUE2:0
LEN: 127 (i’m putting 1 trig at the beginning of the two bars)
RATE:127

but when i come to play it back with the RAM Playback1 Machine, with settings:
DEC:127
HOLD:127
(i assume these are the only 2 relevant controls on the synthesis page for volume level - the rest are default), the playback is SO quiet, its definitely coming through my machinedrum, so i know the routing is working, but its almost inaudible. help please if u can. ive never used these RAM machines before

Yep! I’ve experienced this too. Couldn’t find a complete way around it. Be sure playback machine has VOL set to 127 on routing page. You can turn up distortion a bit for additional gain. The other workaround is to rebalance your entire kit, turn everything else down to match and then boost output volume on your mixer

yeah VOL was set to 127 :frowning: is the distortion actually a distortion? coz on my loop it actually seems to be just pure volume…idk lol im shit at all this terminology. turning the distortion up combined with rebalancing the entire kit kinda worked so ill run with this for now. thanks. still v interested if anyone else can chime in as to why it is the way it is, would prefer not to have this workaround :poop:

Tried ILEV at 64?
