Who can post their first ever electronic music recording?

I think this is the earliest thing I have. I made it with a Boss SP-202 and a program called Internet Audio Mix. This would have been 2001.

Actually, this one might be earlier. It would have been around the same time. 2001. Same set up.

My earliest recording. Made with Jeskola Buzz on a Pentium 233Mhz MMX PC with a Sound Blaster AWE32 around 2001, I guess

I take it all back. This is definitely the first thing that I have. I had this saved as a real player file. Remember real player? It’s definitely the first thing that I liked enough to share with anyone. I had it saved as a real player file so that it would fit on a floppy disc that I was able to show it to my friends in the computer lab.

Already shared my earliest recorded music elsewhere…

But my earliest surviving recording is a cassette from 1996. I had a toy tape recorder and me and my pal and his neighbour recorded a bunch of sounds from his mum’s Mac, we were 8. Only gonna post a short clip because the whole tape is basically sound effects with us talking inaudibly in the background, I keep meaning to sample it :ecstatic:

This is the game we were playing!! :content:

@Doug I like all of these, but that first one you posted is an absolute banger.

Yup, agree! @Doug they sound like the ā€œlost Eminem mixtapeā€ of the age :’)

These are from sometime around 2000-2002 I think. All made with a combo of records, Yamaha SU200 sampler, Casio MT68, Yamaha PSS 470, and Cakewalk Home Studio via a M-Audio Delta 44. There’s more, but I’ll spare y’all’s ears hahaha.

I FOUND IT!
Dusty bullshit from the year 1999 made with Rebirth and Cool Edit Pro on my friends computer before i had any idea how to use those things
I think the drum patterns are 7 over 15…and then i clearly reversed something in cool edit.
Marlon Brando on vocals.
It was tacked on to a cassette of recordings of my improvised noise band from college.
we could really clear a room.

Without further blathering, here it is

I recorded something for the first time ever yesterday. Well, actually, it was my third take - I’m using the Squarp Pyramid to loop a patch + cc messages on my Bass Station 2, then I play a simple loop on the Volca FM that later gets thrown through the arpeggiator. Drums are coming from a SP404 sequenced by the Pyramid. Recorded directly into the 404.

Levels are a bit fucky and my timing was off in a few places, but overall I’m proud of it. I really like what happened at ~1:18 with the transition out of the drone-y breakdown.

My NY resolution is to start finishing songs. Up until now I’ve honestly been kinda scared to record anything - or, perhaps more accurately, too scared to listen to myself.

This year is about trying to let go of that self-judgement and getting in the habit of finishing ideas then moving on to the next one. So, I’m going to build out this idea a bit, re-record it properly, and then move on

Pretty sure this is my first attempt at solo electronic stuff. Probably about 2002 but so long ago I can’t remember how I made it

This is the earliest export I have in my files, it’s from 2019, think I got enamored by the little melody hook that was probably the first hook I had ever created in my life, just kept playing it live so it’s boringly repetitive. I had never done any music before 2019

Wow, this recording of mine received more attention in this thread than for the past almost 30 (?!?) years.

I simply love you all dear Elektronauts!!!:green_heart:

It was 1999 and my friend gave me diskettes with FT2 and samples. I was a gabber and loved Quake and Carmageddon.
