I’m looking for a good source of sample loops for the OT.
Mainly drum loops and bass lines. Would be good to catch a weekend sale on anything you guys recommend.
It’s not cheating if you mangle it

Splice!
Splice is great, but Loopmasters has some Black Friday offers, I just bought the Dungeon Dub bundle and it has some great loops and one shots.
Black Octopus Sounds has great loops and a sale too.
Browse and listen to the demos, take your pick
Recommend looking at Loopcloud from Loopmasters.
try … usually good quality.
i tend to avoid the ‘contruction kit’ packs so the ones on zenhiser tend to be more usable.
There are some interesting packs on sale at Zero-G for a couple more days. It’s the huge bundles of drones, textures and weird soundtrack fx that I’ve been looking at, but they offer a range of stuff.
If you find something that you like, note that their offers stack up. You get the listed discount, a 20% discount code (BOOST20) and a free gift pack if you spend over $20.
Also, be aware that they ask you to install a downloader software (Continuata Connect). They’ve been selling samples for a long time (since 1990!) and they seem alright to me, but I just thought I’d mention that.
There’s also a half-price sale on at Mode Audio.
Nothing beats loopcloud if you ask me. I quit my splice directly as it doesn’t come close imo. The software is well thought out and integrates really good
Is splice good for more ambient (textures) and foley sounds?
(or other cloud based service - loopcloud?)
I’m looking for something that is quick n’ easy to search and bring in new sounds (primiarly for octatrack - which Id probably ‘live record’ from the daw?!)
I really dislike managing samples locally, and sometimes Im on different computers - so being in the cloud, feels like it makes mores sense - as I don’t often reuse the same samples - so I dont really want to be buying a ton of individual packs.
(I tried Noizz a while back, but wasn’t 100% convinced about thier library selection was for me)
think I’ll try loopcloud
