I’m still pretty new to hardware and I have a pretty simple setup - a keystep 37 with the midi out split to the m:s in and a nymphes in. I have the m:s midi out going into the keystep in so the m:s can be the master clock, because the keystep only sends a clock signal when the arp or sequencer is running.
(I really appreciate that the m:s has midi in, out and through, because otherwise I wouldn’t have a master clock for this setup.)
This isn’t a “what should I buy” post, I’m just curious where the m:s fits into your setup. I’m feeling a little limited by only three octaves of keys and thinking about adding a keystep essential 49 or something, but that would reset the hydrasynth fund back to zero, on top of which I guess I would have to split the midi into the 37, and the essential doesnt hqve a midi in… plus every time I start looking at 49 key controllers I end up in a theoretical gas spiral convincing myself that I need at least a keystep pro if not way more… and I really don’t want to buy more stuff. I have not yet hit a wall with what I’ve got, except maybe with the number of keys.
So anyway. Where is the m:s in your setup? Do you use it for the master clock? Do use it with a midi controller? What midi controller? The m:s was my first hardware anything and I still love it, but I feel like I have a bit more of a sense of how all this stuff works and would love perspective from others. Thanks!
