Exactly
Iāve wanted one since the day I saw it in a magazine as a kid.
I never cared that it only had 5 games specifically for it.
After I clean and re-cap the board, Iāll be adding a Terraonion Super HD System 3 Pro, and storing all my Super CD images on that as well as all the HuCards.
I actually have a MiSTer and Analogue Pocket, which play all these flawlessly, but I still had this thing in the back of my head where I still wanted a SuperGrafx.
Iāve also been buying arcade PCBs so that when I get some time again, Iāll be able to clean those up and repair as needed too. (I got a few favorites that are already in working shape, but Iām also getting ones that need minor repairs.) I have some plans for making aluminum enclosures for them, building controllers, and setting them up for various video output standards, etc. (like high-end one game consoles almost
)
I always wanted the GT/Express too! Such a cool little device, and now you can replace the screen with a really nice one too. Iāve got my eye on some that need repairs as the whole PC Engine/Turbo line are fairly easy (relatively speaking) to repair. Just waiting for the right price, and havenāt seen it yet.
Just something about these systems, and the games for them. Some are hugely impressive, some are simple, but all of them are entertaining for the most part, and there are a lot of really original games for them where other systems often stuck more to the standard formulas. (Arcade conversions, first party stuff, etc.)
Anyway, yeah, Iāve wanted the SGX for maybe what 35 years now?
It was time to grab one.
I had a lot of TGFX16 games and I always regretted getting rid of them years ago. Another base system I can find but the games are the real treasures. There is definitely something that feels more legit about playing the card / cartridge of a game on an actual game system, feels like all the pieces finally fit.
Sounds like you got some awesome stuff in the works though, thatās going to be cool to see!
Iāll defintiely post back with some pics etc.
You can still get many of the HuCards for decent prices if you look for a while. Some are pretty ridiculous of course, but I think you could put together a small library of favorites without overspending too badly.
Also re-added a TK Audio BC-1 as insert to the SSL Fusion.
2 new synths added as well - Pro-800 and Kobol Expander, both great (and didnāt even combined come close to the cost of the CABLES for the Presonus
).
Oh, and I got a new overlay for the patchbay as well, and updated magnets for the mixers.
Rat Pedal and Strymon Conduit Midi interface have just arrived. Itās time to update the pedal board!
I have that one, but In white to match the Model:Samples.
I think it sounds fantastic.
i had no choce for the colour, only black left in stock.
but whatver, it sounds really cool.
Sorry
No oneās ever complained before
bought a cheap sub. It appears I am mostly going to listen to moody rave records and keep going āphwooooooarā every time the bass drops. Donāt know why I hadnāt done this before.
Iām done punishing myself with everything anti Behringer so I bought the RD-8 and RD-9 today.
Why? Because I want the iconic drumsound and these come as close to the real deal. (samples donāt do it for me) The individual outputs are wonderful. Now hoping LMdrum, BMX & RD-78 come out soon as well.
Which is it and how do you like it?
itās this, which I think tbh is probably just rebadged cheapy Chinese import businessā¦
might be wrong!
It seems⦠fine? I mean, I made a best attempt to set it up using pink noise and finding the null, but thereās no way I will have been totally succesful.
It definitely defines things like 808 kicks on pop records a lot more than before.
My monitors are great, but they stop at 55hz, and I am pretty sure I have been just piling on energy below this in an attempt to make it audible, then I go and play things on a soundsystem and everything is lost in a wall of sub. So hopefully this will help with that.
I sort of imagine I might wish I had gone another 50 pounds for this one:
but maybe not, maybe at that price you get what you get!
Yeah Iāve looked at the Eris too. Never had a sub so been putting it off not knowing what the effect will be for neighbours and what to get - but imagine at some point Iāll try one
the reason I got one was basically that I saw an Adam Sub8 on ebay for £230 and I was too slow to get it, then I had a look around⦠and like, £120 seemed reasonable.
It works. I donāt doubt there are probably issues with it, but they are far from the only issues in my room tbh!
going to put it on an isolation mat to hopefully stop it shaking plaster off the celing in the room belowā¦
Not exactly a piece of music gear (except it is!) but a vintage 1987 hifi system from that time Hitachi tried to build a Beocenter. A friend of mine buys estates as a hobby and sells them for a profit. He always sends me photos when something special/rare pops up. I had never seen one before and it came with the original (huge) speakers and the add-on turntable too.
Tape section works 100%, the tuner works but is very quiet, turntable works but the cd is busted. Iāll get this fixed and replace my hifi separates with this stylish set. A short test proved that it sounds very good. It certainly wasnāt a cheap system back then.
Thatās dope! I used to collect weird hi-fi like early B&O, 70ās Panasonic, Weltrons, Dahlquist etc. So many killer designs from that era.
Yeah, itās a shame a man only needs one set of hifi (unless he lives in a mansion). Iām always upgrading mine and getting weirder and wilder designs, but I wish I could keep them all.
