It’s a reference, but not one of scale…

Please tell me the first thing you played on it was the Clavioline solo from Runaway by Del Shannon…

I love that song, but Telstar won the day.

I got me one of them MyVolts Digitakt Ripcords. Hopefully it’s not one of the faulty ones…

Plans: Start bringing my Digitakt with me again to work and out and about without having to drag that annoying two-part power cable with me.

I went from having a room full of gear to just an A-frame with the essentials. I sold off most of my gear to go modular. I’ve been debating doing this for the last couple of years and I finally decided to pull the trigger.
The plain fact is, Modular interests me more. With modular im much more drawn to it, I end up in front of it more than I did when I had a wall of Elektron boxes and a bunch of different synths.

I kept the Korg Minilouge XD for when I want to pull up the basics in analog without having to patch up a traditional analog style synth on my modular and as a (very nice) bonus the XD goes a little further than basic analog with the User oscillators and effects.

I kept the Hydrasynth for everything else, it’s a great workhorse synth with tons of options, easy programming and a very wide range of sound.

Then everything else is modular or in Ableton.
The last 5 modules (4ms meta module, mutable instruments veils, mutable instruments Ears, qu-bit Data bender and Endorphins Golden master) should be here by Tuesday and then all 3 cases will be full.

My intention is to spend more time in front of my gear and so far that’s been a success, I have literal years of sonic exploration to do with the modular now and I’m very excited to dive in. I also built my modular with live performances in mind.
Also this is a monumental event for me because it’s the first time in over a decade where I have NO Elektron boxes, I guess I’m no longer an Elektronaut lol  at one point I had the Monomachine/Machinedrum UW/Octatrack/Analog four/analog rytm and Digitone.
(Along with a bunch of other hardware synths and drum machines) I was a massive Elektron fanboy and would have (and did) preorder anything they’d announce but unfortunately that time has passed.

Although I could technically do a lot more with all of those instruments than I can with the modular I was really losing my inspiration with them for whatever reason and that’s what I’ve gained with going with more modular.
I still love the original Elektron boxes really Elektron hasn’t done anything better or more interesting since the original 3 and the way they’re going I don’t at all anticipate that they ever will. Maybe some day when I can afford to I could imagine picking up the MnM/MDUW/OT combo again just to have, you can do so much with those three boxes but for now my journey is focused mostly on modular, deep sonic exploration, writing, recording and putting together a live performance.

Oh yea, I also kept the three Behringers (MS20, Wasp and Cat). I am a sucker for vintage analog mono synths and the Behringers are just so cheap and actually sound like vintage analog so I kept those mostly out of being a synth freak and wanting to still have access to those kinds of sounds, with the kind of music I’m working on they aren’t the most useful but part of me is still a synth freak and a synth collector so I keep them around just when I want that 70s analog vibe for myself.

Every A-Frame had your number on the wall
You must’ve had it all. :notes:

Not a purchase but I just won Sub Factory in a giveaway. I have tried it already. Very good! Will be using it in all tracks for sure. So many presets and options to do tweaks in one place.

This synth keeps edging in to my “next synth” territory in my mind.

This honestly keeps me from listening to my records. I just put on a digital version these days. Probably haven’t used my record player in three years at this point but I can’t make myself part with it or my small collection.

This record is particularly good to listen to lying down and I have a bed in my attic / sound room so…
For the others it’s less annoying my vinyl player is directly on my desk.

I’ve got my eye on the hydrasynth explorer and yours is a nice rival. I haven’t tried eiterh and I don’t know if you considered them vs each other, what tipped the scales for you?

Going modular, mostly Random*Source Serge eurorack, I’m most likely doomed…
