What's your latest purchase & what are your intentions with it? [pics ftw] (Part 3)

I appreciate the info. I will label them so i don’t have to go through trial and error every time.

Boy do I still love those old Akai samplers.

I’ve been doing live sound recently for local events and I’ve been looking at one of these mixers to replace an old analogue sound craft desk. How do you like the A&H so far?

I didn’t know of this one and it’s amazingly beautiful. Then I googled it and wowzers… that’s a handsome price tag. I’m sure it’s worth it, I wish I could afford it!

I won’t have it in hand until next Tuesday evening and will take a bit to integrate it into the setup beyond that. In terms of aesthetics and functionality, the Qu-6 looks like a dream compared to where I’m coming from (25 years with a Mackie CFX12 + one week with a Tascam Model 16).

I was pretty proud of myself for getting it to work without any tutorials or manuals. But then I’m a VCR kid so I know the secret is to keep mashing buttons until something happens. It really ties my desk together too!

Was looking into this one for a long time. Got it for a super deal.
I think it’s obious what to do with it… sometimes simple devices are great for not to get lost

I am in the process of reorganizing one of my studio rooms and ordered a Solid State Logic UC1 and UF1 control surface bundle today.

Matched set. I really like the designs of the regular Dreadbox versions, but these are considerably cheaper used/b-stock right now.

Update: whoa, these sound fantastic. Definitely not your typical delay and reverb! One thing I’ve noticed is that, at least the Raindrops delay, is in true stereo… on a stereo send, a panned sound will have the repeats match the panning in the stereo return. Not something that I was expecting, but really cool for a mixer like the Model 1.4 (or Key Largo, or any mixer with stereo sends!)

The Darkness reverb has its own unusual panning thing going on, which snakes the trails around the stereo field in strange frequency-dependent ways. Really cool.

I’m enjoying the character and sustain of the octave fuzz. Ring mod like sounds can be produced by playing double stops. Fuzz can be switched off as well when I just want boost.

I’m also having more fun than expected setting the Boost high enough to get amp overdrive, then playing with the Fuzz and Blend knobs to try various combos of fuzz and amp drive.

Trying to brush up on theory so purchased Jameson Nathan Jones new “Theory for the Modern Musician” course which was released today under offer as I do like his videos and presentation. Also offers bundle discount on his other course so went ahead. I like my learning courses structured rather then grabbing bits here and there from YT.

Makes a change from hardware!

I’m quite interested and thought about joining. Would you be so kind as to share your thoughts when it’s over?

Bought a Push 2 to have all in front of me when doodling with hardware. Mouse and keyboard are not far but for me is a big distraction to keep swinging left and right with the chair to adjust/change things on ableton.

forgive me ignoring the push. look at them silver beauties behind it :stuck_out_tongue:
