Make sure to keep track of the firmware updates, they are spitting out at an impressive rate with new features.
Bought a few new toys recently. The chroma console which is on a send in ableton. Really cool pedal. Also a polyend tracker mini. I’ve wanted a portable music making device that I can just lay back and program. I originally bought an mpc live 2 for this but it is just too big to be comfortable on a couch with. The tracker mini is the perfect size. I am starting to get quick with the workflow.
I have both and I actually think the MPC Live 2 is perfectly couchable. The Polyend Tracker Mini is way more travel friendly though.
enjoy, don’t get too lost in there
NerdSeq + trigger 16.
the Tracker with the longest release notes history in terms of releasing firmware (&hardware) controlled by that firmware. Amazingly fast and precise, it changes the whole perception of modular sound sources and for me it’s what I was hoping the PE Tracker would do, shortly after release.
M8 to expensive, Tracker Mini (strange design choices) NerdSeq, one of a kind
and I traded things for a second modtools & double helix.
no Proton. LIFEFORMS tho

Picked up these two a couple of weeks ago. The Oxi One has been very nice as the seqencer for everything, even on top of the elektron sequencers. Very easy to learn and move around on. Gets things going quickly.
The Bass Bot sounds very buttery smooth. I like their take on 303 sequencing. The hammer and mutes make a big difference in the textures. It’s sound is quite different than other 303 clones I’ve had in the past, the tone gets very low and the accents meld everything together in a very nice way.
Both are built very solid.
I got the GAS under control (I know, that could be an illusion), so ‚recent’ is relative. Cleaning and packing things into compartments and labelled boxes right now to make space in the head (fewer items to memorize).
But I loved the appearance of the EPS and DX7 as they stood there next to each other (acquired this year, one an impulse buy because shockingly cheap, the other one deliberate buy with months of planning and weeks of communication and waiting period until next trip to Berlin to collect it).
They fit not on the desk, but I am certain that the current process of packing and ordering gives space for the two space ships somewhere.
My plans: just play, listen and feel.
I label many instruments with an office label printer for that purpose. Like the reface DX where stuff is more or less unreadable to me, or (even worse) the TR-626 (gray on beige small print)
So beautiful!

I’ve got about eight really nice tube amps. The oldest one (bought it from the original owner) is a MusicMan Sixty Five Reverb head from the 70s. It still has the original tubes in it. Of course tube life is dependent on how often/how loud you’re playing the amp (amongst a few other factors).
That’s a sweet amp!
One of the few things I regret selling is a Music Man RP100 head.
what I meant to do was buy a cheap second hand distortion pedal for the TB-03 I also shouldn’t really have bought…
oops.
sort of a bargain though. maybe.
intention: ACID
this really works! 100% happier with a TB-03 and Analog Drive than I was with a TD-3. Or the MAM MB-33 actually.
possibly the subliminal effect of it looking like a 303 and having “Roland” written on it, but I’ll take that.
(and it only cost like, three times as much or something silly. ha.)
tried twice, unsuccessfully
(want to try it again)
Had a clearout in my setup, out went Fantom 06, TR8s & SP404 mk2, replaced with nothing yet. All I have left is my Push3 controller and my Deepmind 12D all hooked upto M1 mac mini using Ableton 12.
Looking at getting either
1: Pro3 and call setup complete or
2 Gaia 2 (so I can load my Roland Model Expansions onto it) & a Uno Synth Pro x
decisions-decisions.
I tried to resist the Perkons for the last year but could not hold off anymore. I love this machine. I feel it is one of the first pieces of kit that I have had actual fun playing in a very long time. I think for me, the lack of screen and complete freedom makes it a far more compelling drum machine than most others.
