What: A new Anker 20,000 mAh powerbank to replace the old 10k mAh one.

The old (black) 10k weighs 247g, the 20k weighs 349g. 100g more for twice the capacity. This seems to be largely because the new bank is built around lithium-polymer batteries instead of lithium-ion cells.

Intentions: my main use case is to have enough power to recharge my phone and my wife’s phone while on vacation. Powering the Tracker and other USB-C devices is a nice bonus.

You know full well that you put that poster up with a sense of pride
The Smith’s are a legendary UK band and Morrissey was the front man

Just ordered two ARM2SIDs and four ARMSIDs. Let’s say, I have plans involving SIDs.

There are a couple of things like that in the more distant future. For now, I’ll be using these in some existing situations. I’ll post pics and such once I’ve got it all sorted.

The more distant plans involve a completely new SID replacement that has customizable/replaceable analog filters. (kind of like the little cartridges for the Avalon more or less) Though I have no idea what the physical format will be for the filters. The digital portion will be our own clone design. This one is quite a while out, but the plans have been in the works for some time.

Terry Mastering CEQ. Not the prettiest piece, sounds incredible. 6 band, Handmade inductor / Pultec passive resonant shelves & boosts, a Neumann PEV lacquer/vinyl cutting midrange control, passive / active midrange cut.

Building a juicy mastering loop, Terry CEQ, Vacuvox u23m, Knif Eksa and Sora, going to Merging Hapi running Ravenna.

Red Panda Lab Radius

Edit: I ended up canceling my order, as it wasn’t going to do what I wanted it to do (tremolo/pitch shifting). The tremolo effect on it is moire like a phaser, which I did not want.

Now you need a Korg RADIAS to plug into your Radius

There’s an 802.1x joke in there somewhere, but I’m not allowed to see it.

Midi Fighter Twister. Intentions: stop lusting after knobby analog synths and mess around with some nice plugins for a while

That is awesome!!!

i just got one of those as well! using mine as my semi permanent power source for my sp404. primarily so i dont need to use the wall adapter (purely an aesthetic decision, the sp404 adapter cable is shrimpy and wrinkly). big fan of the built in USBC cable too, i was surprised how much that appeals to me.

Purchased a Jupiter JTB700VR Bb valve trombone.

In spite of playing the trumpet/flugelhorn since childhood, I have not used it much on my R&B tracks over years. Recently I transcribed a few old Philly Soul horn sections that consisted of a flute, flugelhorn, and trombone, and want to add some of the said vibe to my own tracks.

Flugelhorn, check. Flute, check via my wife and a couple saxophone friends who double. Trombone, no go. Quick solution: A Bb valve trombone that uses the same fingering as the trumpet/flugelhorn. The downside is valve trombones are notorious for intonation problems, but that can be corrected with Melodyne Studio or Revoice Pro in post. The embouchure is also much different than trumpet/flugelhorn, and it will take time to develop a decent enough tone to record.
