That very well may be the case. And yeah, the Furman promo copy begs to be taken with more than a grain of salt. I’m mainly just hoping for a better build quality. I’ve been through a number of the APC and Tripp-Lite towers, most of which didn’t last very long, so decided to try something else. My most recent studio UPS (a Tripp-Lite) developed an issue this week after only ten months of light use, after which I happened upon a very good deal on the Furman. If it gives me any trouble, I’ll probably go back to an APC and consider it a lesson learned. Ideally, it’ll just sit there (quietly!) and do its job and I’ll not need to give it another thought until the battery needs replaced.

Oh, absolutely — you want the mid-range APC rack kit if you go with them, not the cheap stuff. Regardless, good luck! And if you ever do want to take some noise readings, I’d be really curious.

I did not. I bought it secondhand from Reverb.com. Were I buying it new, I would have gotten it from Vintage King.

Google Nest Learning Thermostat and yes I know a non music gear purchase so I still meet No Gear 2023 challenge. Love it as I no longer have to wake up early to walk downstairs to turn the heat on early on cold days and can program schedule to run heat and A/C when needed from my phone or ipad. It replaced an ancient thermostat.
