What's your latest purchase & what are your intentions with it? [pics ftw] (Part 1)

the design is totally awesome. small form factor, made of brushed metal (aluminium?!?), weight is also important for me so it is easy to carry

I’ve quite fancied a compressor for side-chaining for some time. Don’t strictly need one of course, but thought I was down to just the FMR and the Neon Egg as candidates… this one is now added to the list.

I just picked up my 707 Tuesday. I haven’t had much time to fiddle with it, but I have a 3-day weekend starting today (Friday), so I’ll have time to get to know my new toy (early Christmas present)! :christmas_tree:

I will keep you in touch! Don’t hesitate to ask me again if I forget, Because i won’t be able to mount the pc and test it until the end of next week…

So far I had excellent results with my former computer : 7th gen core i7 with MSI z270 motherboard. Stability, low latencies without audio dropouts running Ableton 10 on W10, and my Rme madiface XT Drivers are rock solid on windows

Update it and have fun!

You’ll be like one of those people that grew up in an age where they don’t know what’s it’s like to NOT have a cell phone

You’ll never know what it was like to not have sample folders on the SD card

…ah…good to know, i’m not alone on this…

…os version .1.95…here…rev 4561…whatever that means…

got any further fx on board than modulation, delays, reverbs…?

but i don’t need much more than proper compression, gating, and mic pre amping modeling from it anyways…

…better don’t let her face the fact that ur posting this under latest purchases…

that’s about it… and whatever the ā€œdoublerā€ is.

it’s super easy to do sends, though, if you’ve got outboard FX and then return to the stereo input channels

…does it do the trick for real…?..24 tracks to a sd card in realtime no matter what sounds a bit spooky to me…really rock solid stable processing…?
what resolution?..48 or 44.1 khz…?
ever did the transfer from card to computer succesfully yet?

…good to know also…thanx…

Haha well i understand what ur meaning but i would also say she is my biggest supporter when it comes to my hobbies :yum:

Haven’t really used it anger yet. But did record 14 tracks at 48kHz for 3 mins & played back on the desk, then removed card & put it in Macbook & played a few tracks to test. No issues whatsoever.

Couple of new toys:

D’Angelico EXL-1 - not my pic but I can’t take a better photo than this, and it’s the same color (plum). When I first learned to play guitar, I resisted getting a hollowbody archtop as fellow college kids thought you had to get an archtop if you wanted to be a legit jazz guitarist. I’m still not a legit jazzer but as I got older I began to desire that big, bold clean sound that only hollowbody archtops have. $680 thanks to ProAudioStar Black Friday

Walrus Audio Deep Six compressor. I’ve actually had this for months but haven’t gotten around to opening it because I was using the compressor effects built into Zoia and other devices. But lately I’ve started learning the ā€œPegā€ guitar solo, and it pretty much requires a compressor. I’ve never played with a compressor pedal before so having easy access to pedal knobs instead of software params has been a big help. As Graydon states, ā€œPegā€ was recorded with a Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer compressor, which is just little square box with a switch - no knobs!

In case anyone’s curious, here’s the lesson on how to play the solo. I’m using the Tele rather than the EXL-1 for this, because it’s got strings (.009 gauge) that are thin enough to let me do those bends without hurting my fingers.
