Love the graphic design. Looks like a 70’s porn vhs box set. :grimacing::rofl:

Yes, it’s already reminded me how shit I am as a guitarist but occasionally it surprises me with its nuances and it encourages me to get better!

Yes, designed in the late 60s and eventually release in 1976. On the side is a logo with banned pick, like a no smoking sign. Love it!

I’ve been using an Ebow for many years. A couple tips - roll the tone knob down on your guitar, and use the Ebow on your neck pickup (usually works a lot better there than the bridge pickup).

If you want to hear a master use the Ebow, listen to Bill Nelson’s “Chimera” or “The Love that Whirls” albums.

Enjoy!

I’m entertaining the idea of keeping them both. I just came back from our summer cabin where I had the old Live with me and made some beats. I kinda like the idea of having one always at the studio and a second one I can lug around to hotel rooms, parks and the summer cottage.

I like the idea of portability with the Live but the hassle of always needing to unplug everything in order to take it with you is a bit off putting. And the same thing in reverse when returning from a trip. I could just keep all the workfiles on the SD-card and move it to the one I’m working on ATM. What a horrible western middle aged indulgence

The perfect fit of the two of them on my desktop speaks in favour of this idea.

Roland JV-2080… Not only was it dirt cheap ($250 on FB classifieds) the seller threw in the original manual and a bunch of audio and midi cables… score!

Intention: ROMpler stuff

I keep thinking that a rompler is a really awful-looking piece of clothing

Kool And The Gang are playing in my hometown this week. They needed an XV-5080 for the gig, and I happen to own one so they’re renting mine. The rompler is starting to pay itself back. Also it’s nice to think that a world class band has played a gig with my 5080.

Congrats on the find, I’m a huge fan of the JV/XV -rompler series.

Or a practical approach to be more productive with less hassle. I also own a Live and a One: The Live is in my main studio and the One at home. An SD card travels with me with the current projects I’m working on.

I’ve had the same thought about Octactrack many times. I spent a lot of time recently with portable bits of kit - 0-coast, Gameboy/LSDJ, 62hp palette case, headless M8 tracker. The thought lurks that the OT is probably still the most versatile bit of portable kit I own, yet it’s never been on a trip out!

I dropped some lace sensor pickups in my partscaster. This guitar was a fun project. I’m almost sad the build is over. It plays and sounds great.
