Whats the best Synth for Lead Sounds?

Randomly, UDO Super 6 or Hydrasynth Deluxe if you’re into Poly Aftertouch.

Human voices are full of modulation. Warbles are essential IMO.

Ah thats a good suggestion. Not a fan of the lack of patch saving though cause im lazy😩

The Udo keeps coming back to haunt me

I don’t know if it is the best, that’s subjective, but I like my Arp Odyssey. Very musical and sweet sounding, especially in sync mode, love the MK 1 filter. Not a lot of midi control, but you can do velocity with a pedal.

Please just post a few Youtube links to music that comes close to what you want

Also in the end - at least that’s my experience - it almost doesn’t matter if $10000 synth or $100 … the reverb/delay/fx at the end is even more important

Any cheap-ass mono synth should do the job

If this was the late 90s I would have said Yamaha VL-1 for keys players. The combination of breath controller, CC pedal inputs plus onboard controls plus the physical modeling engine was a great setup for wringing every possible ounce of synth expression out of every single note on a keyboard-based synth.

If i said a few groups i will hate myself for selling out. Im trying to be open minded. Just looking for suggestions so i can be objective as much as possible

Thats what i feared

The pedals yes. Thats the elephant in the room

Why not just get the UDO Super 6, as I’ve seen you mention it a couple of times recently? It will clearly do melodies, in either mono (unison etc) or binaural or with overlapping notes in the poly modes, and it seems to check your other boxes well enough. It looks like an amazing synth. Plus it will cover you for chords, pads, bass, whatever!

Fair does Craig. Its been haunting me for a long time. Just seems a lot under the hood i may never use.

Mine has been delayed to mid-January as opposed to mid-December but maybe in Europe it’s easier to get one.

Whats the best Synth for Melodies?

The one you use the most.

People want to know the sounds that click with your brain and heart, they’re not trying to shoehorn your use of the synth in any boxes.

They are on order a few shops here but you can find a few in black

Oh it’s been haunting me ever since I heard the Loopop intro and various other videos. Very awesome synth. I wish I could afford one!
