What would you like to see in my Octatrack mk3 render?

I’m working on my 3d modeling portfolio currently and I’m thinking of modeling something I’d want in the next bigger box from elektron what would you like to see in a mk3?

I think the major component is some sort of live performance or modification UI, if that means the crossfader I’m not sure, maybe a version of that system.

I also think it needs to be premium and in a larger form factor like the Analog series, but since it’s not “analog”, it could stray from that design language a bit I think.

Realistically it also would be a simplified, or at least streamlined version of what the original Octatrack was, and I think that probably means borrowing from the current lineup and using kits or some version of that instead of the “parts” dynamic, and rethinking how recording is done, in particular, live recording and remixing per track.

Otherwise I think the physical device stays much the same, the typical menu buttons (amp, fx, LFO, etc.) with 7-10 encoders, and likely the same design language currently used on all their devices.

Improve the FX, make filter a basic part of every track, expand the pitch range. Done.

What if it could sequence 128 steps?

As an AI language model, I don’t have personal preferences, but I can certainly provide you with some ideas for an Octatrack MK3 based on user feedback and common requests. Here are a few features that users have often mentioned they’d like to see in a future version:

  1. Enhanced sampling capabilities: Improved audio quality, longer sample times, and increased polyphony for more versatile sound manipulation.
  2. Expanded memory and storage: Increased RAM for larger projects and sample libraries, as well as larger internal storage or the ability to use external storage devices.
  3. Improved interface and screen: A larger and higher-resolution display for better visibility, improved navigation controls, and more intuitive user interaction.
  4. Advanced sequencing options: Additional tracks, expanded pattern length, and more sophisticated sequencing features such as probability, conditional triggers, and micro-timing adjustments.
  5. Integrated effects and mastering tools: Built-in effects processors, including a variety of high-quality delay, reverb, modulation, and mastering tools to enhance sound design capabilities.
  6. CV/Gate integration: Integration with modular synthesizers and other external gear through dedicated control voltage (CV) and gate connections.
  7. Live performance enhancements: Features like scene morphing, improved MIDI implementation, and enhanced performance controls for seamless live improvisation.
  8. Streamlined connectivity: Upgraded USB ports, additional audio inputs and outputs, and enhanced MIDI capabilities for easier integration with other devices and software.

These are just a few ideas to inspire your 3D modeling project. Remember, it’s important to be creative and innovative when envisioning the next iteration of a product. Good luck with your portfolio!

A search function.

Although no-one on here would ever figure out how to use it.

…aaaand what makes u think, it will be a “bigger” box…

hi chance, it’ll be another square to be there footprint…

so if u really wanna spent ur time on gear renders…think of inner concept first…
how to design a user interface that covers all “old” functions of the ot plus some little fresh must have gimmicks that worx comfortable and next level smart within a digiformat…

Hey all elektronauts!

I was just now searching for NAMM news on Youtube and found the following:

8th encoder where the metronome button is for mixer level duties.

This would be perfect.

Two metal sticks attached to screws that can be turned over the scene buttons to keep them on, or something similar.

I think about faders and “one button loopers”. Here a (very) quick and dirty octatrack dream sketch
