What would be the most suitable product for me?

Hi there!

I am planning on my solo drums project. I want to play dnb jungle house fusion techno stuff on my acoustic drum kit and want to play backing track with a groove box. I want to be able to play backing tracks with a product that requires the least amount of touch to the product. Because my main intention is going to be playing the drums. So I want to use randomiser and I want my track to evolve with minimum effort. What product would be the best for me? I do have enough money to buy the most expensive one but I dont want to confuse myself with the buttons that I will never use.

Waiting for your response. Thank you.

Playing backing tracks, i’d say the OT.

Maybe not the OT then…

Nothing from Elektron.

Probably Push 3 Standalone? Plenty of modulation tools to make your track ā€œevolveā€ without touching it

I just want to be able to evolve my tracks with min touch. But at the same time ı want to build up the tracks and change the structure, put in and take out the instruments etc

But do not want to build up the whole track with sequencer by putting in each thing tho. Want to use randomiser for that

No Elektron product has any sort of automatic randomiser that is going to do this for you. I would use Ableton Live for this and try to use the Follow functionality for clips.

What do you own currently other than a drum kit? What gear do you have experience with? How many songs do you have prepared and what is the nature of your set?

Are you playing dnb jungle house fusion techno stuff live? Or is it a project for jamming in your garage? What are your specific needs?

What are you making your backing tracks on currently?

Providing information on some basic things like that will make a more informed answer possible.

Tape deck?

I want to do this. He is using elektron. How much effort do i need to do this backing track? Is it hard to learn?

What do you mean here? Randomizing usually need very specific intention so it stays within the range or timing you want. Do you want to be able to modulate the key or transpose a sequence? Many boxes can do that.

Check out Youngr on Youtube. He’s a drummer and uses an Akai Force. Talented guy.

Didn’t see any D’n B in that video. That is more like house and is less demanding so you might have free time/arm to trigger whatever you need.

Playing over a backing track and playing over music that you will modify live are 2 very different things and involve different hardware.

what many other folks do when they want to put in minimal effort is hire a ghost writer.

pretty much this. Use money to pay musicians to music for you.
