What to start with

I think it will increase like the analog heat + fx

+1 for Digitakt
It can also be a sweet synth and a powerful sequencer. Sounds great. Song mode is handy.
They can be found for very cheap.

Thanks everyone — this has been super helpful!

Really appreciate all the perspectives.

I’ve actually sold a bunch of stuff to make room for new gear, so no real risk of GAS here (and even if there was… I’m fine with it as long as I stay productive).

What I’m really after is an external creative “brain” — something that gives me a different way of sparking ideas, approaching sound, and generating layers I wouldn’t normally make in the box. New tools, when used in the right framework, tend to pull music out of me quickly.

I’m still not 100% sure which direction to take, but I think I’ll start with a Tonverb and see how it fits into my workflow. If it’s not quite right, the Octatrack, Digitakt II, or Analog Rytm will be next on my list to try out.

(I also have my eye on a Dave Smith synth and a tape delay to pair with a Moog Voyager.)

Thanks again everyone
