Roland TR-1000
Everything in the S and F tier of this video:
Im thinking I might add an analog rhythm, but does that make sense? They have one at discount in Netherlandsā¦
Does it make sense to add an drum machine alongside TV?
It doesnāt not make sense ![]()
In my mind, yes. Canāt wait to pair it with a Syntakt to get some analog flavor and free up some TV tracks
On the other hand could be amazing to mangle/fxs/plock/route the drums internally on TV, as you surely get a finer control vs. having one or two drum tracks coming into the analog inputs.
YES
The AR is a beast and you will be astonished at how flexible the sound engines are. The performance controls and slide trigs offer many possibilities that are not available on the TV, so they will complement each other nicely. You also have very fine effect control and tasty analog filtering/distortion and a very aggressive compressor.
Digitone 2 would be my recommendation. Youāve got FM/VA/Drums synthesis/basic wave table function all in one box and sound wise they sit sweetly together.
Tonverk is so fucking good at drums as it is you donāt necessarily need your companion to be a dedicated drum machine. Unless you just want that in which case, game on!
Thatās my setup and In love it. Iāll soon add a Neuzeit Drop to control this 2 boxes.
I can confirm Drop is an excellent choice
Make sure you have an SD card reader for updates
Yes thank you, Iāve seen that on the presentation video
I didnāt ![]()

How exactly are you sampling the matriarch into the tonverk?
Hi, itās fairly straight forward. The Matriarch is connected to the TV via MIDI DIN and I just use the auto sampling feature on the TV making adjustments when needed. When making patches for the Matriarch, Iām mindful that itās going into the TV so I account for how itāll translate tonally in a more than 4 voice polyphonic setting. The Matriarch can be too powerful sometimes so donāt be hesitant to reduce the number of OSCs in your patch.
