The TV + Moog Matriarch are making a lovely combo with my setup. The Matriarch sounds amazing and has the sonic playground to dream up some of the most wildest of sounds. Since the Matriarch lacks patch saving, the TV makes fine work of capturing those patches with surprising sonic detail. The Moog loves the TV’s effects, these two are a very powerful exploratory combo together.

Planning to pair it with my Eurorack case, but I need to get a MIDI to CV module and a send/return module to complete the combo. Right now it’s just the rack going into the AB inputs for effects but no other way to communicate between the two.
I suggest pairing it with some time and attention

If you’re looking for something to pair I assume that you feel something is missing? A gap in your workflow? A function that isn’t there?
What is it you’re hoping to introduce?
Appreciate you’re asking what others are doing but it’s a bit like asking what everyone is having for breakfast. You will have your own breakfast needs. The kind of music you make at the very least will have a big impact no?

I think the Tonverk is pretty self-sufficient and complex. You use it better if you focus on it, IMO.
Get yourself some FX to give extra character to its second output maybe?

surely tonverk is packed with FX already, why would you (necessarily) feel the need to add an additional fx unit?

You don’t express any clear need such as “I want to achieve this particular goal/sound, play this kind of music”, “I would like to have some on-the-fly looping”…
So it does sound like “hit me with random ideas”.
If it’s not GAS talking, then: what are your current options? What have you experimented already?
You could formulate better your needs if you had already, maybe.

This is the way. I wish there were a Matriarch desktop model for those of us short on space
AH+FX is a fantastic end of chain, I’d also recommend considering an OTO Boum for the same job - but it’s worth repeating: is that something you feel you need, currently lack, and would benefit your music?
You didn’t come into the convo asking about end of chain options so I’m also left wondering if you just have money burning a hole in your pocket.
Don’t want to assume too much though so be good to hear what you’re looking to achieve with a pairing.
Is it maybe about having more knobs to twiddle to enable better live performance?
The answer may simply be ‘nothing’ though, TV doesn’t need anything to pair with really. Having things to sample is great but the best option there is ITB plugins as there’s no point buying hardware just to sample it.

You might technically be right about that, but I don’t see it that way. I love to have sessions where I just make patches by jumping around on the interface of a hands on hardware synth and then save them. It makes sense to do that and then build multi samples with TV. I have no desire to do such a thing ITB.

Ah yea, I mean I should stress that I just meant multisample. Personally if I have the hardware there on my desk then I’ll just be playing it not multisampling it, especially if I want to get down with some knob action. (I might sample that though…).
I will say though that I personally only see the value in multisampling ‘static’ instruments, like a piano or a glockenspiel or whatevs. But that’s a personal take… - otherwise you just end up with a very static version of a synth patch - I don’t take my hand off the cutoff knob when playing/sequencing a synth so I’m not sure how I’d really use the TV in that way (unless I sacrifice the synth filter for the TV one, at which point you might as well just use looping waveforms).
You could get a nice workflow with a TV and ITB synths if you’re also using it to control them by MIDI - do some fiddling, get a nice patch on the go, and multisample. There is a neatness to that - but I feel like it’d be focussing on building flavours of Rhodes or similar rather than firing up a Prophet 5 vst.
With all that being said - I see the value of pairing the TV with something like a DNII because then you have the best of all worlds - and you have a capable, flexible synth you can manually control during a performance/recording. I’d also need a sampler personally as the TV can’t do some of what I need from samples - but that may change in the future.
