Imo, Modulation is where Modular shines, adding a fx unit to this setup would imo be pointless.
I have a 48hp spare case in my closet and im actually kind of GASing for a SV-1. it sounds sooo damn good, that filter is something else. JUICY as Mr.Huang said
Thanks for the tip. Had a look at turing machine. Right up my street. Nice and simple, but does lots with no menus or hidden functions. Now to find a diy kit in stock…
Scored a bunch of early pittsburgh modules. Very happy with them. They do a great job of expanding the SV-1. Which (I have discovered) is more useful and more fun than a twin mono synth rack.
Now I know I need a few VCAs…
So, question. Is 8 VCAs overkill for this small system? Asking because I’m looking at the Doepfer A-130-8 octal linear VCA. Great price and only 6hp.
There’s no level control on the A-130-8, is that a must have?
Use as an interface to expand your capabilities into a DAW. Either with Bitwig, VCV Rack, or Ableton.
Combined the bare essentials of your rack into the endless functionality of ITB. FX, extra modulation(there are 8 channels of output that can function like a Pam’s New Workout but more customizable.
If you’re not into hybrid- maybe one of those multi fx modules. For a variety of things.
