What key am I playing on the A4?

I should probably just learn which key is which on a piano, and believe me, I have tried, but it just doesn’t seem to stick. I’ve also stuck a post-it with the keys to the A4 to know which key I’m playing, but it always seems to get lost.

Is there some setting in the A4 that will let me see which key it is that I am pressing when I am pressing it, or do I just have to step up the old memorizing game I knew so well back in school? :stuck_out_tongue:

If it’s one thing, one tiny little thing, I miss on the A4, it’s the ability to just hold a trig and select a note Monomachine-style.

u can do it #haveimissedtheirony

[edit] i meant trig the note ! not learn the positions

Find a basic keyboard scales tutorial on Youtube and practice for at least 1/2 an hour a day for 3 - 4 days (ideal, keep this going this every day forever  ).

Anyway, this basic practice will help because what you’re probably missing is the muscle memory associated with the key positions.

Yeah, maybe some day.

avant - I know you can hold down a trig and select a key from the little keyboard, but it won’t say which note it is. At least I can’t seem to see it anywhere on the screen.

Ah, if I click the “note” button, it will show which note is playing, haha - doh! :joy:

Also In the note setup page you can set a key note for your song and track key scale to major or minor and the a4 should play the trig notes accordingly!

blimey - that gives a whole new level of fun to the transpose actions, i now follow the comment in the manual - shame it’s limited to min/maj though !
