What gear from the past 10-12 years do you think will be a highly sought after classic in another decade or so?

My top two picks are the Boss RC-505 (MKI and MKII), and the OG Digitakt.

Mint OP-Z with the line module, when every unit has fallen apart. Then some artist will be shown sporting it on a live gig and it will blow up… save this post for later!

Still regret selling mine, as it was in perfect condition!

I’d say Digitone Keys assuming they don’t make a 2 version!

Octatrack. Technically older than 10-12 years, so OT Mk2. :yum:

I think people forget how recently a lot of the most popular modern classic synths actually came out but I’m not gonna bother mentioning stuff like the sequentials and moogs that are iterations of previous successful products.

Gear it hasn’t happened for yet but is so good that surely it will eventually:

Cydrums
Redshift 6
Artemis
SE-02

Gear that people already see the value:

Digitone ii and Syntakt both
Lyra 8
DFAM
Microfreak
S-1
Perkons

I’m looking for another pair of RC-505’s and another OG Digitakt. No hurry and I’m not necessarily looking to make a profit in the future. It’s just that these two units have consistently been the most fun for me and I wouldn’t mind having some spares in case mine crap out.

Oberheim OB X8- one of best analog poly made

Hydrasynth, for the number of stage shows it’s popped up at

Dirtywave M8. Knxwledge alone is likely to make this a cult classic a la QY70, not to mention glowing praise from AudioPilz

And honestly, some jailbroken ipad or iphone with plugins that won’t be compatible anymore

Dare I say it

SH-01 and any SH-101 clone.
TR-8S. Lighter than the 1000 but just as deadly and fits in your backpack.
MPC One
Cirklon2
Tonverk

I’m utterly convinced that both versions of the Electribe 2 will become very popular in a few years. They’re portable, cheap on the used market, and built on a very solid virtual analogue engine. The sequencer has a few under-appreciated features like Grooves, which make it super easy to dial in dynamic patterns. And while there’s a lot of menu diving, almost all the actual sound design parameters are right on the front panel.

Writing this made me want to dig my E2 Sampler out of the closet!
