I am tidying up all my samples CDs from the S1000 era. What mac program should I use to do HQ .AIFF rips? I am going to get some sort of dvd drive to usb device for the mac to do this.
Here’s a guide to using XLD to create perfect CD rips, courtesy of the now-defunct but ever-meticulous torrent site what.cd. Since that’s not your exact usage you’ll be able to skip a few of the steps, but following this will create the highest-possible quality audio files.

iTunes AIFF encoder import here (error correction enabled). Used to use CDEX back in the day IIRC. There’s always CDParanoia if you want to mess around with terminal.
