What did you do with factory settings?

Hey Digitakt community, just out of curiosity and for fun, what did you do with/ think of the factory settings?

Did you sit around and listen to it? Did you mess with the settings and improvise sets with them, or did you just delete that shit and make your unit in to a blank slate? Did you discover the fact that you couldn’t turn off auto save off after fucking around on them and then want to put it back to factory settings so you can leave them there untouched, and to satisfy some weird form of OCD, (like I did…).

Any way yeah. So just for fun factory settings, impressions?

I don’t have a DT but the presets project on Elektrons is usually write protected with a toggle you can undo if you wish but by default you can’t save over it and you can just reload it. I believe there’s ways to reload the pattern and kit data for each pattern. If all else fails you can do a factory reset and it will reinstall the presets project and put the factory sounds back in sound bank A. Don’t worry about it, have fun…

It most certainly auto saves over your presets if
You record stuff over it. At least as far as the patterns go. I’m not too worried about it though. I haven’t updated the device’s OS and I’m sure there’s a way to restore it to factory settings.

Thanks! What did you do with your presets?

(same with) What did you do with your VST presets?
If you find something tasty and you like it, use it. If you tweak to something new and tasty, use it. If you find something fitting very well in a track use it.

Everything else will have to come from elsewhere (sampling stuff), your sample collection, your mind and synthesis from the ground up, etc…

Everything in the END is very personal. Are you able to design everything from the ground-up ? fair enough so blank the thing and go all the way personal. Or you can’t and you need some materials to build up on TOP of that, you own stuff so keep the libraries.
